Is it normal for the dreads on the nape of the neck to unravel quickly and take longer to lock up?

I'm black and have had my dreads for 5 months most of my hair is in the budding stage but the back constantly unravels and won't lock up as of yet. I started it when my hair was really short i dont use beeswax because it leaves gunk in your hair. Any help would be much appreciated.

What locking grease do you use?

jamaican mango and lime locking creme wax

Wash out the wax in that section you need hot hot hot hot hot water. As hot as you can stand and completely dry it. back comb that section again without wax. Back comb it really good til you think undoing it would be impossible. Then twist with a very very small a mouth of wax the next day.

No just read you don't use wax. Wash out the grease and you won't need water that hot since it's now wax. Dry completely. Back comb as much had you can. Then twist the next day with locking grease.

Not with my hair texture and my dreads are already started i'm not going to start from the beginning

I meant just start the ones that unravel over again. Or you can always go to a African hair braiding place and they'll do it for you.

The problem isn't getting it twisted it's keeping it twisted

Somewhere along the way you messed up so you have to correct it. They'll do it so that it doesn't fall apart and they tell you how to maintain.

they said it's just sweats more in that area so it might take longer to lock because I workout
