Girls does your period blood smell bad?

I heard a girl say its foul smelling. Is this true? I can't imagine why blood would have a smell to it, even if its menstrual, not circulatory.

No. It's not really supposed to smell bad. If it smells bad, it either means that
1. the girl hasn't changed her pad/tampon in a long time, when you're supposed to change it regularly every 3-4 hours or so depending on your flow
2. the girl has some kind of infection down there, thus making it smell bad.

Menstrual blood actually doesn't only consist of "normal" blood. It also contains mucous membrane, for instance. It can also contain some vaginal discharge. Normal blood usually doesn't really smell like much, except for maybe a hint of iron. But since menstrual blood contains these other things, it's more likely for it to start to smell a little. You should also take into consideration that it all happens under a couple of layers of clothing, which means that any type of smell easily gets trapped and intensifies. So usually, period blood does have a distinctive smell to it, but it's not exactly supposed to smell bad.

I think it depends, which probably sounds weird. Sometimes for some reason it smells but other times I don't smell anything. I think it depends on how heavy it is. I have some months where it's really not heavy, and other months where it's extremely heavy. I just finished it a day ago and it was an easy period. I didn't really smell anything, and it was light and it didn't last long. During the heavy months it will smell.

Ahahahhha! Every girl is different. Personally my period blood doesn't smell like anything, but I have this friend and whenever she's on the big P it smells like hell😂😂😂. I guess it's the way you carry yourself, what you eat and how many times you change your pads. Or if you have anything! Lol

I will try to not get into to much detailing.. It will only smell if you don't change your pad or tampon.. Which is like after 12 hours. If you shower frequently during your period and keep it clean it won't smell. The smell can be terrible though.. It's as strong as the smell of a hair dye. No joke, I hope you know that smell.

Yeah, I'm personally very hygienic and don't have a problem with this but I know many girls who do.

Sometimes. Not sure what the science behind this is, but I've had periods that smell like a fish market and other times, I'll have periods that have no scent at all.

It's not suppose to smell since it's blood.

It might if a pad/tampon wasn't changed between the 2-4 hour mark. Or there could be an infection in the vaginal region.

It doesn't smell if you use a good pad. If you use an unpopular / unknown brand of pad / underwear - it will smell horribly.

the period blood is a the bad blood your body has, so I agree with u ,, it smells bad when u change the pad u smell it at the moment, but when you wear ur cloth it won't smell if your clean inside and out and take good care of changing the pads

Kinda, it's pretty unpleasant. Particularly the blood on the pad or tampon you've had on/in for a while. That's one reason to change pads often lol
