I'm 22 and I look like I'm still in high school?

As u can tell I look much younger than I am, it doesn't bother me sometimes but other times I loath it. They always ask me for my Id usually when I buy cigs or alcohol but sometimes at the liquor store they check my ID really hard to see if it's fake when it's not which I can understand. The part I hate is that when I meat and talk to people in the outside world they ALWAYS assume that I'm in high school at 1st and like I usually date and hook up with girls that are younger than me (no one under 18) but like the closer they are to my age the less serious they take me I feel. I fucking hate it sometimes like wtf am I suppose to do?

Every time I go out anywhere (grocery store, mall, restaurant, etc.) they think I'm 12. Literally. They ask me why I'm not in school today. It's irritating to be talked to as if you're a child, when you're actually an adult. So trust me, I know how you feel. I have a hard time dating, because I think most guys assume I'm a kid, so I'm not approached.
It could be your demeanor. Like.. the way you act/your personality. Don't get me wrong, I think I'm pretty mature for my age. But my personality is a very cutesy, bubbly personality, which is associated with children. I can't change my personailty, so regardless of what I do physically, I can't get people to perceive me as older. Maybe you have a teenager-ish vibe to you?

Hhhhhmmm ya maybe I've had trouble "growing up" since I started college but I've matured A LOT and in a lot of ways I am very mature I'm pretty knowledgable and articulated like I loooove having intelligent conversations which older people love but many of my friends that have and hang out with are generally younger than me or about the same age. When I was in high school I had waaaay more friends that were my age and some that were older I think most of my friends now are kinda younger cuz I feel more revered and respected while I find people my age to be kinda I don't know stuck up and up tight and pretty self centered I feel. I'm a free spirit kinda person I'm a creative type so that "inner child" doesn't want to die away. But as far as dating and even hooking up is concerned right now like I'm practically uninterested ATM (ik kinda weird for a guy) I just feel like I wanna focus my energy on getting my life together, and doing the things I love doing and making my self happy :p

They id you up until you are ripe and old.
There are 40 something year olds that still get id-ed.
Not because they look young but because workers have to follow a certain policy.
It's very common that someone under age can look a lot older, and someone
over age can look a lot younger.
You can't always tell by looks.
To be on the safe side Id is needed.
I still get asked for it and im in my late 20s.

Yeah I totally understand :p when they don't card me it's either cuz they've seen me soo much such as my local 711 lol so they already know I'm 22 or there total newbs and they're fucking up haha

Sucks but you gotta live with it. I look young for my age too but i compensate with some 5:00 shadow and older looking haircuts. Doesn't get me all the way there but its something. I still get carded.

People always think I am 4 years younger than I actually am. Most people haven't given me hell about it, but I can see what you mean. Some girls dig baby faced guys, so that is a plus.

you do look 22, which is rare for western people! Usually 22 looks like 30, no offence western people :) Maybe thats why people think you look younger than your age. I am same like you I am 23 but look like a freaking 18 yr old kid! I was able to increase it to 20/21 by changing hair style and fashion.

Try different things, like grow a beard or something! :)

I have the exact same problem; almost 21 and people seem surprised to hear that I'm even out of high school. It probably doesn't help that I'm a minuscule 5'2'' but it gets really tiring to have your opinions dismissed as "awww, that's so cute" or "you're too innocent for this." Always adorable, but rarely taken seriously. Even my bitch face doesn't work on people =(

I'm 26 and I still look like I'm in high school, so there! lol I don't thinking looking young really matters to most girls as long as they know how old you really are. My boyfriend looks young too and I like that we both look young together :)

P. S. Judging from your picture, you look like you're 20 to me and that's not so far off. I'm almost a whole decade older than I look lol

OMG this happens to me often too. I'm only 5'2 1/2 and I'm in college. Most of the time, I walk around in college shirts so people get the Idea that I'm older than I look. It usually helps

it's not a bad thing to look younger, but if you don't want to just shave your head, you'll definetely look older

Not really tbh, I don't really to much w my hair it's just simply buzzed, I've had it at different lengths , I'll admit I do dress kinda young I guess :p but I still look young even when I'm scruffy like I seriously thinks it's my baby face :p

People with baby faces look more grown up when they over dress. If you want to look older, you might have to dress nicer. Dark jeans, avoid sneakers, a nice belt, stuff like that. Go conservative.

Maybe just a nice polo in a pastel with a dark pair of jeans, and a dark lace up? You don't have to wear a suit but yeah... you could definitely look a bit squarish but it fixes the baby face.

@Klaatu51 I like my beard its awesome so nah I'm not shaving that off... I've tried the unibrow shaving maneuver but people tend to notice and comment on it when shaven off.
