What is your opinion of Sweden?

Now this might be a stupid question or w/e but Im from sweden and I'm really bored xD. I'm just wondering what stereotypes people have of sweden and swedish people. This could also stretch out to scandinavia in general as norway sweden and denmark share culture etc. And NO sweden and switzerland/swiss is not the same! Switzerland is a tiny little country under germany xD.

I never heard of such place

Sweden:
- Attractive people and beautiful scenery.
- Extremely progressive society (ahead of Europe and the Commonwealth, and way, way ahead of the US).
- A language in which words seemingly always either look or sound the same as in English , but never both.
- Love of crayfish (I just started learning Swedish on Duolingo, and it gives the impression crayfish are a pretty big deal).
- Strongly independent and technologically advanced (has always built its own fighter jets, which is unusual for a small country).
- Cold in the winter, obviously...

I tend to think of Norway and Finland as being quite similar as well, with a few exceptions...

Finland:
- Best drivers in the world (many great F1 and rally drivers - Tommi Makinen, Mika Hakkinen, Kimi Raikonnen, etc - as well as better training for normal everyday driving).
- People who are more German than the Germans (very anal, with ridiculous attention to detail in technology etc; no discernible sense of humour).

Norway:
- Even more attractive people and even more beautiful scenery.
- Good singers (biased cos I love Lene Marlin; admittedly "A-ha" suck - but at least they're not ABBA).
- Good skiing (possibly more mountainous?)

I refuse to even acknowledge Denmark as being part of Scandinavia - it's clearly part of mainland Europe :P

Actually its finland that isn't a part of scandinavia and denmark is. Or well I guess finland was a part of it when finland was just the right side of sweden xD. And yes crayfiish O. O. And yeah norway is good at skiing and finland is good at hockey... but sweden is good at both B)

The place where most danish people live (the capital is there etc.) is not actually connected to the Europe mainland its an island :D

Sweden is in many ways similar to Switzerland in that it is clean, things are high quality and generally things are expensive. I can understand why someone would be bored with good standards. Switzerland is similar but with more regulation and more boring unless you get off the main routes and up the mountains.
The people in Sweden I really liked. They had a good sense of humor and a lot of the girls were quite lovely.
So there are only really good things about Sweden but it would be better if it were placed some distance south from where it is. But then it would be Switzerland with more pretty girls.

And dont think sweden is all cold and dark. Stockholm is the 5th city in Europe with the most sunlight!

I did not say there was any cultural ties, but I have travelled a lot in Europe and US and have worked in Stockholm, Helsinki and have been to Norway. I have been in Switzerland for 5 years and regardless of culture Sweden and Switzerland are very similar in many ways.

In contrast, Sweden is not similar to Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal or England. But Switzerland and Sweden in winter even feel the same, people enjoy the same things and I don't know why but if you were blindfolded it could take a little while to tell the difference.

I just found out that I'm descended from a whoooole bunch of Swedish/Scandinavian royalty from way back, assuming my genealogy detective work is correct God willing... and I know the Swedes were a highly feared military force a few centuries back (not to mention the Vikings)... and Uppsala looks beautiful from what I see on Instagram... I don't know what else haha. Do you ever see the northern lights?
I don't know much about the Swedish people to be honest. The accent sounds kind of funny in English (sorry!) but I assume that's an exaggerated accent kind of like when we overdo the U. S. Southern accent on TV.
What do you think of Americans?

As a person who has been raised in Sweden without being of Swedish ethnicity, Sweden is dope. I had a problem with Sweden being a very reserved country as I'm really outgoing, so I moved to the UK. It's now when I'm away from Sweden I miss it as fuck.

I have a very positive view of that area. They're generally pretty liberal and provide good benefits for their people. There's a lot of beautiful sites to see around there too. The Scandanavian countries are usually listed as some of the best countries to live in so that's gotta mean something.

Swedish girls are always so pretty, as you prove lol. All I really think of Sweden is that it's generally a peaceful country with a decent living standard.

I came to Sweden last year in order to study in university. I'm from Greece. I love Sweden and swedish people because it's a very organised country with a lot of nature and the people are very kind to each other and most of the times not offensive. Everyone is a helpful, too. Two things that I don't like :
1. the food
2. If you don't speak good swedish people will speak with you in English and that's a little irritating

It's because we actually have the best English speakers in the world (aside from those with English as their native language) so when we see someone having problems with swedish we dont hesitate to speak English instead for their sake c:

I really like Scandinavian people - I had a Norwegian housemat in university and he was really cool, there were quite a few on my course as well, and I have always found them to be extremely creative, intelligent, laid back, fun people. As stereotypes go, that's a good one ;)

Swedish weather is weird. Summer is super warm and winter is super cold. Usually its always quite cold or always quite warm in countries xD

We've the best weather.. Its more on the balance side not so cold or hot. But sweden's weather is freezing all the time. Every time I hear from my friends they say we're going skiing :D
