Why do babies and small children always stare at me. I know how I sound, but whenever I walk past a small child they have this wide eye puzzled look?

Little kids seem to like me a lot I'm the oldest of three brothers so I think I'm pretty good with kids, but that doesn't explain why kids look so freaked out when they first see me. O-O Like literally it's like their eyes dilate they won't stop looking at me. they look completely confused and puzzled. It's sometimes happens with animals too. I'm thinking it might be because I'm tall and sort of have a different look than most people but this is really weird I'm not some type of amazing beauty not ugly though either and nothing like this happens with people my age. Is this something small kids just do?

I definitely look different from the common look because I have like very tan skin curly hair and fairly I'm tall but I don't think the difference is that extreme. Also I'm around other guys around kids and they even notice the kids always stare at me more.

Babies can differentiate between attractive and unattractive faces. They cry when being shown the picture of a witch, for example. But they will stare at the picture of marilyn monroe.

So maybe you have an attractive face? Or like you said, unusual compared to your surroundings.

This often happens to me as well. One day this baby girl stared at me for a whole 10 minutes her cart was parked next to my seat. She stared and stared and stared, unblinking, until her grandmother felt embarrassed. I'm guessing it's because my facial features are something new to her. She's a white baby, all her family is white. So an Asian face must have been something new and unusual to her.

Next time a kid stares at you, look at them back, smile, and wave. Most kids smile back and you'll feel all warm and fuzzy inside =)
