What happens to a snail after its crushed?

There are hoarded of snails out on my patio.. When I walked out I just heard a lot of crunching. Pretty sure I stomped on a small community or family D-: .. so do they have a chance of survival, do they seek other shells.. Or is it like instant death?

If you step on a snail 🐌 with full force instant death. But I've cracked a snails shell before without fully crushing it and it lived I kept him in a Tupperware with holes in the lid and fed him lettuce he lived for a like a week so then I let him go.

Haha what I though was cool is one time me and my friend in like 5th grade saw a snail somehow he cut I think it ran over something sharp and it was bleeding.. A snails blood is like really green its so interesting!

Like other have said, instant death most likely.

Don't be sad, thing die everyday. Thousand of animal died each day so we can have meat. (Some people realize this, and then turn vegan because they can't deal with it)

It is near instant death. It is certain death, but they might suffer a bit before they die... However, there might be sufficient shock that they go unconscious before they actually die.

Well I paint snails, their shells if I see any, so people see them if they are looking at the ground at all. lol. :) and I pick them up and move them to the side if they are in the middle of the sidewalk lol. (;
