Dell XPS 15 for video Editing (older 9530 not the 9550)? Good?

So it needs to be a laptop because i need portability.

It has the Intel i7 (4th generation Haswell chip)
16gb ram
Nvidia 750m

Is this laptop capable of video editing quickly? does anyone know how fast it is. I will be producing video content and need something snappy. the newer xps 15 9550 with the newer graphics card and 6th gen Intel is too expensive.

If you want a computer fast for content creation/editing, you need to go for something higher mid range to high end for laptops. I know you asked this probably a decade ago, but even back then GTX 750M is garbage; you're better off going for GTX 770M or AMD equivalent. Now though, I think RTX 3060 or RX 6600M minimum along with 32GB RAM and Core i5 or Ryzen 5 is sufficient.

But unless you're doing something very high end like 3D modelling and AI, even something as weak as GTX 1650 or RX 570X along with a recent Core i5 or Ryzen 5 and 32GB RAM is good enough.

The biggest bottleneck is ram and disk drive speed. Especially disk drive speed. So look to add a solid state drive. It'll make all the difference.

Storage doesn't matter for content creation/editing; CPU and RAM matter the most (GPU does for certain stuff like 3D modelling and machine learning). The CPU and RAM are alright, but the GPU even back then is garbage.
