he was a soldier, he founder of Turkish Republic. also Che Guavera, Gandhi, Mohammad Ali Cinnah was impressed by Atatürk.
even there was a 'Nutuk'(the book which Atatürk wrote about Turkish Indepence War) in the Guavera's backpack

My Great great grandfather met him when Turkey was conquered in ww1, he wept as British soldiers marched through the streets of Constantinople as conquerors. Local Turkish women threw themselves at my great great grandfather for sex while impotent Turkish men allowed themselves to be cuckolded.

I don't know enough about him to be confident in my views, but as a westerner, I have a vaguely positive impression of him.

Atatürk wasn't Leninist or marksist. he has his own ideology Kemalism :)

he was a great commander but he made a lot of mistakes for his country for example no hilafet and using the latin alfabet. also the hat law was bad
