piercings are awesome! and they're a way to express yourself... i think body modification is just art. nothing negative about it... that sounds really ignorant to say that body modifications are linked to mental disorder...
oh wait.. maybe the ones who think that way are the ones who should get checked >:(00 Reply

Asker+1 yso the studies that show correlation mean the scientists should get cancer immediately? what about someone who wishes cancer to strangers? isn't she mentally disturbed? you are just proving what they say.
Opinion Owner+1 yare you triggered? awww =3

Yeah, no, you're a terrible person. Telling someone to kill themselves is disgusting behavior.
+1 yI do think if it extreme.. and not just one to represents a life/special occasion there is something going on with that person.
Either it's a fetish they have, enjoy the pain, attention or just hate something about their own bodies so they sue tattoos to cover-up, distract the attention for other parts of thier body.10 Reply

Most of it is just fashion, but some people appear to get addicted to it. So for the majority, it's not, but for some (mainly the ones who end up covered or who have weird piercings that make other people wince), it's the sign of a bigger problem.00 Reply

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI'm not sure about mental disorder but I think there's definitely something emotional going on. Seeking attention or something. Depression?
I've heard people say "it's how they need to express themselves" which I'm not sure I buy. Seems like an odd way to do it to me but that's just me lol.10 Reply
+1 yAbsolutely not as long it not extreme like piercings places that should not be pierced not below the belt and have tattoos all over them. If u ask me its like a fashion trend for their body that is permanent. I have never had a piercing or tattoo and probably never will but I find them pretty sexy on a girl.

+1 y90% of women with tattooes and piercings anywhere besides their ears happen to be sluts, its not even a secret every guy who sees a tattooed girl thinks to himself "easy prey " and girls know this and dont mind.

+1 yMost piercings and ALL tattoos are a huge turn off for me. I can't think, for the life of me, why people have them. What good are they?

I've got plans for a shoulder tattoo of a nebula, and I've already got two ear piercings01 Reply- +1 y
Also, maybe one crazy person doesn't mean that we're all crazy.
And which studies are the ones that show "correlation between tattoos, piercings and foulness" because I've never read them, or even heard of them

+1 ySome women look really hot with tattoos.. there are plenty of stereotypes for people with tattoos. I would judge the person not the Ink. Just saying.

+1 yI think there is an element of, is this person ok when it comes to tattoos as they are technically a wound. People with mental problems also like to injure themselves. It could be a sign of mental issues but their are many who are totally fine.
05 Reply- +1 y
So is getting a shot, I suppose, or piercing your ears (which is deemed "normal")
- +1 y
@FallOutBoy200 Your being overly sensitive most people with tattoos probably do it simply because they want them for whatever reason not because of poor mental health. Tattoos are also usually a much bigger and less nessecary wound.
- +1 y
No, I didn't mean like that. I was agreeing with you, haha
- +1 y
@FallOutBoy2001 oh thanks, there's more to communication than just words, you lose that dimension on the Internet.
- +1 y
Yeah, that's the problem with the internet
+1 yI doubt it. I have 4 mental illnesses and don't have any tattoos or piercings

Having tattoos and/or piercings doesn't mean mental disorder.10 Reply Anyone who has even a basic working knowledge of psychology knows that tattoos and piercings, especially on women, are a sign of mental illness.
11 Reply- +1 y
Even basic earrings? lol.
+1 yI think trolling has far more legitimate grounds for being called a mental disorder.
10 ReplyMental disorder? I don't think so. Piercings on the ears or nose are okay otherwise it's a huge turn off for me.
But are tattoos worth it? Worth the pain and hard work and money? Why and how?00 ReplyNo... I am going to get tattoos in the future Most of my family of tattoos even my sister who is just a year older but she got a cross.
