Can a headshot be considered an act of self- defense?

I went to the range for the first time today and shot a target in the head pretty easily, and that was 18 feet away, whereas an assailant would be around six feet. If you didn't try to shoot them in the head, that it was just a quick moment, it is self defence. But you're always told to go for a part of the body that will injure them to the point they won't pursue you but t won't necessarily kill them

here in Germany no. since carrying a gun is highly illegal ( luckily)

I mean, depending on the circumstances. If someone is coming at you with a gun about to shoot you, it doesn't really matter where you shoot them to defend yourself

Knowing Americans, yes; even if the assailant is unarmed. For an armed attacker, few would debate the question.

Yes, one shot is but there are two or more shots to the head then that's a different story.

Yes, if you're physically at a disadvantage and you want to take the guy down a headshot is perfectly justifiable. Could be difficult to land though.

Is this about gunplay? If it is you should fire at the body, easier target to hit.
