Why do girls give the middle finger when taking pics?

I don't get why some girls give the finger when taking pics and selfies. Do they think it's cute or something?

Maybe guys are throwing up deuces so they go one finger less and chose the middle finger. It would be kinda stupid to just stick out the index finger.
