Are Black Women Less Desirable Than Most Races? Why Or Why Not?

According to many people that I've met and some polls I've seen take place on here, black women are one of the less desirable or wanted race to engage with, what's your point of view? If so, why are they less desirable to you, and if not why are they?

I'm going to give an honest answer and say yes and it's really a media creation, speaking from an American perspective. Much like Asian men are the least desirable among men, dark-skinned black women are the least desirable among women because they are often associated with character and physical traits that are opposites of what would be considered the norm for their gender. In other words, Asian men are femininized while dark-skinned Black women are masculinized. In addition, they are often asexualized in the media by being very rarely featured as desirable sex objects.

There is a catch though. I would argue, personally, that light-skinned black women with more anglo traits tend to be just as attractive as anybody. However, I'd admit, it is because my taste is as much a victim of what gets pushed by the media as anybody. In that aspect, unfortunately, my mind has followed the crowd. As an Asian man who is in the same predicament as black women, I'd love for my taste to be different, but alas, it is not...

I've noticed all this as well, especially the light-skinned black women notion. My husband (Who is White) said he branched out because my skin tone (I'm a light skinned black woman). To him darker skin black women aren't as appealing. I'm guessing it's also a product of media for that reason. It is unfortunate.

I can only speak for myself since I don't believe there are any polls on this issue. Personally, I find (some) black women very cute and sexy. I'm not into the light/caramel type of black but I love the really "dark chocolate" type of black girls like the one in your third picture. I think those girls can look very mysterious... in a sexy way. Unfortunately, we don't have any such women in my country but if we did have them and my wife was okay with it, I might perhaps do something with one of them. I've never kissed a black girl and I'd love to know what it feels like. And very hypothetically, if I was single and I met a pretty black girl who also happened to be a very cool and sweet person, I'd totally marry her. My wife is Asian and I love the idea of dating interracially (I'm white).

Well... I might be a bit more objective about the issue since I'm not American. I feel like within the US, black women are often dismissed as being "hoes from the hood". There's still a very subtle hatred where some white guys might not discriminate you but they don't think of you as equal. And I think that's really sad. In my opinion, some black girls are absolutely beautiful and like I said, if I was single and I met a nice, sweet, caring one, I would take her in a heartbeat. Heck, I wouldn't even care if she came from a poor background. For me, the personality is what really counts for a relationship. The racial difference is fun for the bedroom but on a daily basis in a serious relationship, I don't believe it is relevant.

I am a female who likes females and I am very attracted to black women. In general, I find myself attracted to most races physically. However, as cliche as it sounds, despite from that I care more about personalities and souls, which race doesn't determine. If you have a beautiful soul, race or ethnicity doesn't change that.

As a black woman myself, I feel like we are at the bottom of the barrel in regards to desirability. We are easily stereotyped and bunched into one category where we are all thots, single mothers, uneducated, obese, masculine, angry, or loud. Not all of us are like that. 😔

I agree, and it's really sad because as you said not all of are like that at all. And it makes dating and overall life even harder because a lot of us are stereotyped like that.

No I love woman of every race... I think what it is society put Labels on everything. And for this we are quick to jugde.. plus depends on how hood rat they are.. I don't look at labels for we are all equal.. but people forget about that as well..

Sorry I may be making some poor assumptions here. Do you live in the U. S? In the United States we had a very bad past with slavery. The slaves were originally purchased from African warlords and brough here on ships. Being as the originall slaves all happened to be black, this wound up created a situation where all black people in the US (Maybe not 100%, but certainly +99%) were slaves.

So even after slavery was legally abolished there has been tension between white and black people. Society has taugh me that even though I not my ancestors had anything to do with slavery, I should feel ashamed solely because I'm white.

So even though logically I know I had no part in it, and a woman is free to make her own decisions, it just can't get over the shame which has been ingrained into me. One of my best female friends is black, and I am definitely attracted to her, comfortable telling her everything that goes on in my life, but I could never see her that way.

I was born and raised in the US. I suppose it slipped my mind that you could feel that way. I don't think me and my husband has every really compared our relationship to slavery back in the day. And since I'm with him all the time and we live a isolated life I forget about all the tension. What you're saying is understandable.

Unless, you're answering my question and saying they are less desirable because most of them are unattractive to you, where I'm from the average black girl looks like the women above. Not sure to understand your answer. I thought i was nice and kind. I didn't say that black women are less desirable. Just the feeling i have when i see a woman, make like her or not for dating. You postes pics as examples to argue your question. That's why i said they are attractive to show you that black women can be desirable. You juge you like average it is your point of view.
