TL;DR: people can be stupid and shortsighted.
First, boys and girls are raised differently, with different sets of expectations from sex. Boys are raised to want sex, and lots of it, and perceive it as a mostly low-risk activity. For Girls, sex - while on the one hand pleasurable - is something darker, more dangerous. Risks range from pregnancy to rape and even murder. Most men can easily physically overpower most women and girls, and this is something that girls are HYPER AWARE of. This is part of why women are so discriminating with who they have sex with - a sexual partner must meet the basic requirement of "doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would harm or threaten me". Even Prostitutes make this calculation. While men occasionally worry about being robbed by girls they bring home, women worry about being raped, assaulted or murdered. Men in bars drink to work up "Dutch courage" to flirt with a woman. Girls drink to drown their fears of being raped and murdered by some suave fuckboy. Hence, male rapists are vilified by women and girls (as well as the men who support them), because they're considered a threat to the welfare of all women and girls. This is also why MeToo is such a powerful and effective campaign, and people have zero tolerance of men who sleep with underage girls.
For men (i. e. ex boys), the idea of an older women having sex with an underage male does not recall a fear of violence and coercion. It rather recalls an image of a particularly attractive female educator whose breasts they lusted after during a particularly boring class in secondary school. The idea of sleeping with a secondary school teacher seems as harmless as eating an ice-cream. You've probably been told that the high fat and sugar content of ice-cream is bad for your health, but you never paid much heed to it. The same goes for sleeping with an older woman.
And hence ehebophilia and even paedophilia by women doesn't get the same social condemnation. Most people don't have the time or inclination to research the damage it can inflict on a boy's mental and sexual health. They don't think about the subtle ways an older woman can emotionally manipulate and abuse a teenage boy (and while women occasionally physically abuse the boys that they rape, they more often rely on emotional and psychological manipulation). This harm is far more abstract and therefore difficult to understand and empathise with than the often visible scars of a girl who was raped.
It's a serious double standard.

First, pedophile means "attracted to PREpubescent children". The vast majority of these stories are referring to post-pubescent teens.
And most men recall their own teen years, when from the age of around 11-13, they found themselves obsessed with women and sex, and fantasized about the hot young mom down the street along with the hot girls his age at school. For most men, they know damn well that they'd have been willing and eager participants in having sex with an attractive older (20s or early 30s} woman. She wouldn't have needed to trick or manipulate him in any way.
That's far less likely to be true with similar-aged girls and older men (but there definitely are cases when young girls know exactly what they are doing and initiate it). It's much more common that the young girl had to be persuaded or manipulated, and perhaps more importantly, a young teen girl is far less able to deal with a pregnancy than a middle aged woman having sex with a young man.
You can't ever discount biology, and biology isn't interested in "being fair".
Because women get societal protection, men are protectors and therefore expected to protect themselves, men who can't are weak and not worthy of life as they can't fulfill their purpose. If he didn't want to be married at 12 he should have done things differently. Another example is how no one cares how many men die at war (and women will shame men into enlisting under certain condition, as shown by the white feather girls), men who get raped are often laughed at by police. Men are disposable, it's why we're sent off to war and expected to work in jobs that can kill us.
You have touched upon a wide societal double standard. For any crime except perhaps killing her own children, women fair better in the legal system. And it goes beyond this. Women make up about 25% of the homeless and studies show that men are the victims of domestic violence at the hands of women about as often as the reverse, yet there are literally over 1000 times as many shelters for women as there are for men. A really good example of the prevalence of this double standard is the repeated tests of women hitting men in public vs. men being aggressive with women. In almost all case, the woman hitting the man is ignored. In some cases bystanders join in. In every case of a man being aggressive with a woman, bystanders intervene.
The bottom line is that society treats men, except for the very wealthy and powerful ones, as disposable utilities.
I never hear of any. I hear about tons of female teachers having sex with their males students but none of those are pedophiles. Pedophiles go after PRE PUBERTY youth, not semi-adult high schoolers who often worked and got married at 15-16 in years past. Those tough, rugged people would probably roll laughing at many of today's citizen's staying on their parent's healthcare until 25 and living with their mommies and daddies until age 25. They'd been working for a decade and probably had two or three kids already and today's youth still live at home whining about the government not giving them enough free stuff and bitching about how unfair and hard life is.
It’s because society sees women as weak and unable to take advantage of or overpower men physically or mentally. Society sees men as strong and as the aggressors, always willing a ready for sex.
This is one of the many examples of how a patriarchal culture can be harmful and backfire on boys and men

Mostly because our society doesn't value men and boys at all. Antiquated notions about sexuality is up there too. This is proof that "feminists fight for equality" is an outright lie. Feminists are standing up for boys and men sexually assaulted by women. In their minds women can do no wrong.
It's a society norm not to say it's right but is visually acceptable since it was more exposed and justified how it is and everything associated with it. There are pros and cons. Depends on which side you're in or what you believe or perceive to be acceptable for you.
I don’t think people are more tolerant of female pedophiles. Maybe the difference is when ignorant people say things like, “oh he obviously wanted it”. I think we all have a pretty different initial reaction when that sentence says “oh she obviously wanted it.” I don’t know. That was just something that occurred to me.
Actually 2 days a go a 26 year old girl on here said she finds 12-16 year old boys attractive and she want to know why she does like guys her own age. The whole comment section was people calling her a Pedophiles. So I don't think anyone is more tolerant of female than males.
Yeah, it's like this, when people see a hot female teacher raping a young boy, most people comment like this:

Because society views male consent and victimhood as a joke. You're belittled if you're assaulted and complain. And most dumbasses think "Oh I would've totally loved to be in his shoes" when it comes to young victims, not fully understanding the mental impact and gravity of these situations. It's disgusting and a horrible double standard, and is why so many instances of male victim assault goes unreported.
Cause that's not pedophilia, it's ephebophilia, which people care much less about for both genders. However fathers are still more protective of daughters, and feminists think women have no agency and are victims of the world.
I think it's because of the comparable rarity, the view that women are the submissive sex, and that women are the ones who are being entered, not men.
Let put things in a way that might make this whole mess a bit less surprising: my father, a 65 year old man, just learned this month, that forcing someone to give you oral is rape. A fully grown man needed to have that explained...
Personally, I think it's just as gross. But I guess it has sort of become a thing of where women "arent as disgustingly sexual as men" (not true obviously) I hate it though. I remember having a teacher that was so weird she would flirt with all the guys it was gross.
Men are never really looked at as real victims. No one really gives a shit about the stuff we go through. If you express it, you're perceived as being weak and people who you think were friends will judge and abandon you.
Because it goes under the radar owing to the titles of nurturer given to women. Our generalization is that we earnt our trust by sticking it out courageously and patiently.
There are free riders on this grand title who mis use it for such endeavors.
What's more disturbing is the people reacting to the older husband with anger and aggressive behavior while none of that to the woman.
There's a natural urge to protect women and it's more acceptable to be violent towards men.
It seems the general attitude is that only women can be victims. Therefore, any sexual crime committed against a male is simply laughed off.
