Parents that rob a child of their childhood to fulfill their own dreams of what they were incapable to achieve are just plain criminals in my eyes.
They place such a stress on the child to fulfill the parent's ideals that to me it is equivalent to a child brain wash. Those children are brought up to believe that those pageants are the norm for them and that only victory is important.
The loss of a normal childhood in favor of what I consider as legal forced child labor in the first world should be assimilated to slavery and punished accordingly by our governments.
There is nothing dignifying for a child to have to behave the way the parents train them to be and to accept all those sacrifices for the sole benefit of parent's pride and egoism.
Let the children be children and do not force them to do something they are not meant to do naturally.
Child beauty pageants are very destructive and is a breeding ground for Pedos if only said pageants where just for fun and they made the kids dress in appropriate fun costumes and be about self Beauty and not try to make them look like grown woman.
It should be illegal because it can affect children's self-esteem negatively and pedophiles may want to watch the show.
If children don't manage to win enough times or live up to their parent's expectations, the parents may be disappointed and the children may feel guilt for it. They may also develop eating disorders and other appearance related disorders if they gets too much criticism. They may focus solely on their appearance, not being happy with it and not value other things as much.
I think it is ridiculous. Typically it’s women that try to live viciously throughly their kids. Shameful really and should be banned. All child beautiful pageants should be banded.
I think they shouldn't exist. Exposure to make-up on a young child's skin is very harmful. And making them participate in competitions which obsess over looks, is incredibly harmful to them mentally.
It was an interesting show but I wouldn't want my child to be in such competition. I rather send her for enrichment program to prepare her for higher education, develop her skill in swimming, self defense, learn third or fourth language, develop her self esteem in public speaking etc. If one day she wanted to enter such competition, she has to be old enough to make that decision herself.
Creepy and weird. I remember going on holiday in America as a child and I was asked if I wanted to enter a beauty pageant what was going on in the hotel I was staying in because they didn't have enough contestants and they thought I was cute. They even offered to do my hair.
The lady really creeped me out and I just looked up to my mum and shook my head to say no, held on tight to her hand. I was more interested in doing normal things children do not go up on stage and dance for a bunch of grow ups who only want me to lose so their daughter can win lots of money for them.
Yes, I also think it is harmful for the child's perception of the world later on and those shallow and ego boosting travesties can permanently make an idiot of an otherwise normal child, but that's what idiot (parents) do, they produce more idiots
I feel is parents using repulsively their kids, parents trying to live through their kids instead of letting their kids be kids. Probably a perfect recipe for a ruined childhood and seed of future complexes in their adulthood.
I think the only people that are for it are the deranged mothers and pedophiles. I personally feel that they should be charged with child abuse. Fortunately I think that show has ended but the tradition is still alive.
As another answer said here, lots of parents use their kids in beauty pageants in order to make themselves look better. I find that repulsing to say the least.
If the kid actually wants to do it then fair enuf but sadly a lot if kids are persuaded into it by insecure parents. Personally i dont like it but id never tell someone what they shud or shudnt do.
My friend was a pageant girl she’s sick mentally sick now she couldn’t even maintain high school it was all a competition from all the brainwashing they do to looks to what they can eat

I don't like it.. not comfortable with my daughter wearing makeup/participating in such stuff at that young age
I think the only problem with it is the sexualisation of children. I mean kids love to play dress up, they are just too young to understand why they are wearing next to nothing and wobbling the area they will one day have boobs on.
It's a picture of the child that has been airbrushed. They do it to all the girls on the show to have it as like a picture that says oh this is this child on the show now kind of thing

3-4 days ago, I was watching this child beauty pageant show on TV where they would show how various 5-6 yo girls were prepared for the competition and their final performances. Gosh! It was so adorable❤
In France, Thylane Blondeau once posed for a picture in the Vogue magazine, being 10 years old at the time. Her parents were roundly criticised in America for allowing her to do so as the Americans thought that her pose and outfit were inappropriate and that she was being exploited.
Totally gross, there is programme tv, its terrible the little girls are all made up, but the mothers are worse bitching with each other, its border line abuse …….
