I actually never heard of it before so I did a bit of googling - The sources were more Internet slang than anything else so I don't know how accurate it is but the impression I got is that it is an "Anti Feminist movement to bring back more feminine modest role models like say the 1950s housewife in a white picket fenced house baking apple pie"
It is a version of the idealised world in the "Make America Great Again" (Leaving aside the pro and anti arguments" where the right/republicans/conservatives believe an ideal era existed that is being threatened by modern day liberalism.
They aspire to it and feel somewhat marginalised thus the rise in populism.
