Would you rather have the Last Word or the Last Laugh?

I'll have to answer my own way because "last laugh" doesn't apply in an argument which I assume this is about.

"DO you like to have the last word?"

It doesn't matter to me. I have one thing about me: if I'm dating somebody, an argument is just a disagreement. But it never gets to the point of "hating" them or really being "angry" at them or wanting to belittle them, we just don't agree. I focus on WHY we don't agree and come back with logical arguments for my case.

Usually, the girl lets her anger take over and starts going off the rails (especially when she realizes that her reason for being angry makes no sense and my arguments are sound), which is where this notion of "last word" comes in, when they can't let it go.

Meanwhile I'm off to the next thing, whether it's work or whatever.

If I had one regret, it would be this.

I wish in my younger years I had met a girl who understood the way I did - an argument is just a disagreement about something, you raise logical arguments, you listen, and whoever's got the right answer, that's what you do. But before it gets to the nonsense level of yelling/screaming/throwing things, we'd just kiss and start making out. Use that energy for something productive, come back at it later when we're both cooled down (or showered).

I'd prefer the last laugh over the last word. However if I was about to die, than I would choose the last word. And that would be:
For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he pass'd;

If you’re smart, you don’t have to say a thing. Just let them run their mouth and get the last word because they will embarrass themselves and then you’ll have the last laugh. Bam
