I have once found £200 on the street in front of the post office. Upon picking the banknotes up, I looked around and asked those people immediately in my vicinity if they lost the money. All said to keep it but I just imagined this little old lady or old man that lost all his/her savings.
I went to the police station and the officer seemed to be annoyed that he needed to waste time on filling forms. I could clearly see that he thought I was demented but I could not shake the thought that somewhere, an elderly person is missing that money.
One year later, I received a note from the lost property office that no one claimed the money and that I could get the funds back, minus 6% for storing it in their safe for that long.
I did the mistake of returning cash once before and got laughed at. I will not make this mistake a second time.

I guess it depends a lot on where I found it. for example, I live about a a 2 hour drive from the poorest place in Canada, and a lot of robberies, kidnaps, assaults happen there. If I found a bag of cash just sitting in a alleyway in that part of town, I'd take it because the money was no doubt stolen from other people, so I'd just steal the money from the person who stole the money from other people. But if I found a bag of money at my school, or in a public area with lots of people, I wouldn't take the money.
I'd hold on to it, pay attention to the news for a while to see if anyone was coming forward looking for it, and if someone claimed it I'd give it back (after making sure it was theirs).
I would not, however, turn it in to the police. They have a policy called civil forfeiture that allows them to confiscate and use money and other valuable property suspected of involvement in a crime.
Typically, if no one comes forward to claim the money, they won't work very hard to find out who it belongs to and return it. They'll seize it under civil forfeiture laws and spend it on stuff they want around the station. Often on things like a new coffee machine or other amenities.
If no one came forward after a few months, I'd donate the money to cancer research.
I would really want to keep it, but my conscience wouldn't let me. Because if that were my bag of money, I'd want it back. Plus you never know where that money is from/what it's for.

You are legally required to turn it in to police. After a period of time, if the owner is not found, you get to keep it. https://www.hg.org/legal-articles/found-money-what-are-my-legal-obligations-31615
I would turn it in. My upbringing obligates me to do so. The way I was raised in this regard is that if it is not yours to begin with, then taking it would be stealing. Not to mention, when it is turned over to authorities, if no one claims it within a certain amount of time, then it is awarded to whomever turned it in. And honestly, in that case, I would take it and donate it to a local charity.
I would return it as I believe in the law of attraction, what you do is a reflection of what you are going to manifest into your life. I also would assume it’s illegally made money, and I wouldn’t want run ins with criminals so i’d definitely either ignore it or turn it in.
If I choose to keep it amd the owner ends up asking for it I'll give it back. If i pick it up and there is no sign of owner (literally if i walk a few blocks and no one says shit ) I'll just keep it. Fuck it life ain't fair and nothing happens for no reason
Nobody in their right mind would leave such a large amount of money accidentally hanging around. I'd suspect it was planted deliberately or abandoned intentionally. It's not mine to take and I'm not needy. I'll call it in to the proper authority or turn it in and I'd make sure I have witnesses to testify that I didn't have any bad intentions.
Like anything I found, I would retain possession of it, but I'd report it in general terms and if I could identify an owner, I would return it. If there was no way to identify it, and after 90 days it wasn't claimed (they'd need to be specific about it to claim it), then it would become mine.
Well I would hope there's an address or a form of ID inside. Otherwise, I'd assume that it's drug money, in which case, I'd personally distribute it charitably to people who need it, since the police would most likely just keep it for themselves. I'll probably keep a stack or two for some clothes and a nice dinner. And a trip to a nice place.
Open the bag and check if there is any name or contact info or any card, if yes... I will call them and ask them to come to me and then I will ask some question regarding bag to varify if the bag really belongs to him, if varified successfully I will return the bag... if not I can't say what will I do that moment...
And if there is no ids or any contact info about anyone in that bag... I will wait many hours there, where I found the bag, in Hope of someone come and claim the bag... if no one come, I will assume that the bag is a gift for me from God and thus I will keep it myself
In any situation, I will not give that bag to police at any cost... EITHER, I will find and return the bag to whom it belongs, OR, I will keep it.
for meI would turn it in. It could be stolen property or counterfeit bills. Keeping it could have serious legal ramifications. Besides, if you turn it in to the police and no one else claims it, they often allow the finder to claim it, assuming the money is legit.
I would look to see if there was any contact information in it and if not then I would go online and tell others about the money I found and about the location I found it and see who got into contact with me about it ! if someone can tell me what I need to know and it is pretty accurate then I will let them have the money ! Thanks
That would be tough. The fear of karmic consequences usually causes me to turn lost things in; I found a wedding ring at my work. For a minute, I thought of pawning it to pay off debts. But, an old woman came looking for it, so I’m glad I turned it in. But, if I found a bag of money? With my student loans hovering over me, I’d probably keep it to pay them off regardless of the karmic consequences.
I want to say that of course I would turn it in. I would like to think myself so Noble but in all honesty I think I keep that son of a bitch and be very careful how I spend it says not to draw attention to myself.
Once the police across the street were looking for a bag of money. I wondered why that stranger a few hours earlier was running down the road and jumped in the bushes, lol.
-If its a bag of money, YOU BET SOMEONE is most certainly looking for it. The police would have most certainly already be looking for it.If it was just a bag of money would hold on to it for awhile and not spend it and to see if anyone reported missing money , but I would keep hush about it , after a few weeks my ass is spending it , if it was someone’s wallet or purse with a ID in it I would return it
Turn it in... you don't think someone will come looking for that $$$$. Anyone see the movie "No Country for Old Men?" If you were thinking about keeping the money make sure you see that movie first.
Depends on how much is in it and hos desperate I am. If the person it originally owned by needs it more than me, return it. If it's a rich butt I'd keep it.
Depending if it's a handbag sure find the owner with some type of ID in it. But say fine a baag full of money like that one girl who found 300,000 and she returned it to the bank and they gave her 500 bucks... that broke my heart. On God I'm keepin a bag, I got people to feed thought it was 😭🤣
The problem with "finding a bag of cash" is... who lost it or stashed it? They're not usually the kind of people who want you around after finding it. I'd be worried about taking it from wherever I found it TO the cop shop even !!
It would depend how much. And what i thought the likilihood of reuniting it wirh it's owner. I've found several benjamins sitting on a snowbank. Sure i could have turned it into rhe cops. But it would have just ended up in a cops wallet.
If we're talking about a bag FULL of money, oh yeah someone going to miss that money. No way i'd keep it.Bag of cash? What bag full of money are you talking about? I haven't seen any bag of money around here.
