What are your holiday unpopular opinions?

1. A Christmas Story is a good movie, however playing it for 24 hours straight on TBS makes it overrated.
2. Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You" is not the quintessential Christmas song people think it is
3. Fruitcake isn't as bad as people make it out to be, depending on who makes it.
4. More places should also embrace Haunnakah. Even gentiles should at least try it once. There is some fun stuff like dreidel (you can actually gamble) and potato pancakes.
5. Mixing Santa Claus and the religious traditions of Christmas is not sinful or blasphemous (The baptist churches where I live a lot of the time has issue with this).

I'd say there can be peace between the non christian part of Christmas and the Christian part. I think you agree with me there.

I also think santa is real... St. Nicholas was and I think the spirit of st nicholas can still touch people on this time of year

Rankin bass Christmas animations are awesome but they are also very weird... If you pay attention to some of the story lines they do get interesting... But I suppose that is their charm 😊

"You're a mean one Mr grinch" has nothing to do with Christmas 😂 just listen to the lyrics 😂 I'm not even sure it says Christmas In it 😂 I'm still a fan of the cartoon and the song though boris karloff was awesome

I think playing these sad Christmas commercials like St Jude for kids
you see all these sick kids and it hurts that they use Christmas as the
time of the year to get more donations but the thing is when we donate
is the money really going to St Jude for kids in these Hospitals and trust
I'm no way against supporting St Jude kids cause I have a cousin
who is in a wheelchair and was a special kid when he was little and he
is now still living and age 45 but he still does the best he can

2. To me, it’s happy holidays. Fuck your merry Christmas complaints against inclusion.
3. Carolers are trespassers.
4. I’m tired of seeing things marked up because they have a Christmas theme coating on it.
5. If you want to have a really good Yuletide, hit up a pagan party. You won’t regret it.
6. Christmas music sucks.
7. Christmas is not a Christian holiday.
8. Quality time with loved ones is far better than presents.
9. Non alcoholic eggnog? Spice it up with a cream rum.
10. Enough with the materialism and light shows. Just enjoy the holidays

Great list!

1. I agree. I can watch it once per year, but anything more than that would bore me.
2. Absolutely agree, There are at least a dozen Trans-Siberian Orchestra songs that I prefer, as well as several Andy Williams, Jewel, and Kathy Mattea Christmas songs, among others, that I would rather hear.
3. Fruitcake can be really good if done right. It is awful if done wrong.
4. Celebrating Hanukkah can help people understand a bit of the history of the Holy Land, especially the Maccabean Revolt and the miracle that led to the Festival of Lights.
5. Santa Claus is based upon St. Nicholas, and the tree, etc., can be seen to be filled with Christian symbolism.

nativity scenes are repulsive
Why is this the only time Sinatra is cool again? Can we not listen to swing the rest of the year? Who doesn't like swing?
Eggnog should exist all winter
Hot cocoa likewise should be around any month it's not super hot
Giving presents is fun when you don't see the other person's reactions, getting them is usually terrible.

Die hard is a Christnas movie, and it's great one.
The same Christmas songs on repeat covered by pop stars is stupid and maddening.
People should focus more on the "Christ" aspect then the presents and pageantry.
