I do own one, but it is kept in a secure place at my dad's house like 20 miles from here, and it's not loaded or anything anyway. I bought it like ten years ago because I lived downtown in a big city and worked at a bar, so I had to walk home at like 2:30 a. m. Now I have a place in a boring suburb so I really don't need it and would rather not have it in the house.

This is weird. I actually have that exact same gun. On top of that I got a cute 12 gauge and a couple other guns. I think it's important to be able to protect yourself and the ones you love. (I know the replies to this will be "get a better lock" and "you're more likely to kill your family than the intruder " but so far everyone is alive so... peace

  I'm sorry for all the people in the market for it now. Last Saturday I brought my friend out to go gunshopping and all the local shops were sold out of em. They told me, "Good luck trying to locate one and they're about $900 these days". I'm in Cali so location may vary for pricing. I got mine about 10 years ago for around $450 after taxes, licensing and fees.

naw. it's next to impossible to own one in my country. i don't see a good reason to go through the bureaucratic hassle to get one as i don't see any use for it besides of shooting at targets on a range, which isn't worth the effort for me, as i can do that with a gun i can borrow at the range.

  Did u mean precision? Also there's not a whole lot of long range self defense situations if any but my dad had a lever action rifle and i do want one later down the road

  True my dad was a special forces sniper so I learned to shoot long distance but you do realize an ar 15 round can go through 4 or more walls with lethal force depending on construction if you miss and depending on were you hit the intruder the bullet still might exist with lethal force

  Most deadly force encounters occur within 7 yards and for home defense, it's even more up close, making a gun setup for long range target shooting a liability with it's overall length making it hard to maneuver indoors. And you should watch this https://youtu.be/QSP0uZ61QDo
