Punishing a sexist high school student?

I’m a teacher at a dance class in a high school. My class this year consisted only with the girls. But recently school principal brought me a boy, saying that he’s under punishment for saying sexist statements about the girls, like the girls must always be “barefoot and pregnant”, and I should teach him respect for the girls. He’s been with us for just one class yet and the girls already hated him begin too arrogant and stepping all over girl’s feet during the dance. So some girls come to me after the classs and suggested me to punish him for that which was also a thing that principal encouraged me to. But I don’t what what I can do to punish him. Do you have any ideas?

The second he acts inappropriate, have him sit in a corner with his face to the wall.
(You could always have him dance in his bare feet while the girls have shoes on, too.)
But I don't think him dancing is going to change his sexist mentality.
Having the boy dance with girls isn't going to be a punishment for him. He might even try to cop a feel. It sounds like it's more of a punishment for the girls.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I completely agree with you about this being a punishment for the girls more than him. That's why I'm trying to turn this around.
I also loved your idea of making him go barefoot while girls wear their shoes. So that he can be the "barefoot and pregnant" and can't step on the girls' feet anymore. But how should I make it happen exactly? Should I just tell him that he's not allowed to wear shoes anymore at the start of the next class?
