The honda, hands down. Fords are turds.
I've owned about fifty cars in my driving career - foreign and domestic. Today's automotive technology makes the technical and performance differences very slight, so it's more a matter of appeal and affordability. Get a car that suits your needs, and your budget. Some cars cost much more to maintain than others. If you want a boring car that's dead cheap and reliable, get a Toyota. If you want something domestic, get a Chevrolet. If you want something exotic, anything from Europe suits. Just know they're not what you want to own once they're out of warranty. And pretty much anything out of Korea or China is pure junk.

Well said Browneye57, can't say I have had much experience with any other Ford's except for the Ford Ranger. I have owned five of them in a row. I'm completely sold on that particular vehicle and the 3.0 liter and the 4.0 liter. But I guess any brand is going to have something that's worth bragging about. I appreciate your input if I where do I buy a foreign vehicle. I would certainly consider your advice.

The ranger and the F150 are arguably the best vehicles Ford ever produced. I've owned at least a handful of them, but all from years ago. The Focus is a REALLY crappy little car, a bazillion recalls, seems they've bought back a shit ton of them for transmission failures. The Fusion is better, but overall they're just not very good cars. Toyota, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Subaru, all run circles around them.

In my opinion Mazda is one of the best car companies out there. They don't dilute their production like Mercedes does (CLA is made in Ukraine or Czech) and they are one of the few with a traditional shifting automatic transmission. Most everything else has a CVT trans, and if you haven't driven one you should check out just how awful they are. Lots of drivers don't seem to mind them, but I think they're awful - they never shift, the motor just winds and winds as it is 'continuously variable'.

Toyota still makes a good car, but I think everything has a CVT now, same for Nissan. And Subaru. Mercedes has a good transmission. I would not buy a Chrysler Fiat, except for the charger/challenger, or a ram truck. I still think Chevy makes the nicest truck - I've owned all three.

BMW makes a very nice car, but stupid expensive to by and maintain. We had a 325 'vert for 8 years and I spent good money after bad on parts to keep it running. Had I relied on a dealer to maintain it we would have gone broke.

I've owned 6 mercedes, 2 porsches, 2 volvos, 3 subarus, 2 toyotas, a nissan, a BMW, and every domestic brand. Out of all of them my new Dodge Challenger R/T is the best by far. When Mercedes owned them they cleaned up their production facilities, or built new ones, and they used the E-series platform for the Challenger. It's really a fantastic car. But I wouldn't own any other model they make - the mini-van is just horrible. As is the 200, the neon, and the avenger, the durango. LOL

I bought an American vehicle - a Toyota Sienna. Made right here in the US 🇺🇸 - southern Indiana. Built by Americans, FOR Americans. Most of its content was built in the US.

My wife... bought a Japanese car - a Toyota Corolla, made in Japan. That sucker KNOWS how to swim. It had to get to the US somehow!

Our household has 1 American pickup truck, 1 German sedan & 2 Japanese coupes.
If we add "other" vehicle types such as motorcycles & RVs, the American & Japanese brands double.

I'm a friend to Ford Chevrolet and Dodge, I think they used to refer to him as the big three not sure on that

January about 14 months ago I came across a 2011 Ford Ranger with the 4.0 liter engine. I could not b happier. It has a really nice ride to it like a car and that four point I was pretty strong. Knock on wood it's been a good experience

I can relate. The fact that your cars are predominantly German manufacturers. As a matter of fact I think this is right, the 3.0 did they put in the Ford Ranger was a German engine. tough as nails. Either that or my boss has his facts mixed up. LOL

In my opinion, I'm very patriotic when I'm at a rodeo and the horse goes by with the American flag, I often get tears in my eyes. I love America even with its problems... But I said that to say this: there are several foreign cars that I would much rather invest my money into versus what Ford GMC and Chevy offers. Mind you I haven't done my homework in about 5 years. But prior to 5 years ago I would have surely felt this way

It also depends on what you want from the car, type and style of driving and importantly type of roads.

For example my 2 main cars are a Golf R Estate and a BMW M4 Comp.

Over winter months I only use the Golf R.

Driving in Wales the Golf is brilliant

However sun out and decent roads and the M4 is my go to car,

Referring to what you just wrote I'm not real familiar with either of those cars, but if anybody says BMW my thoughts are, jump in and let's have fun. Just did some research from the Google library and the 3.0 that they put in a Ford Ranger is a Vulcan 3.0, the cologne 2.9 was made in Germany.

I have both: a Ford and a Honda (well, it's an Acura, but it's really a Honda). If Toyota made full-size vans, I'd have one of those, but instead I have a Ford. I may trade up to a Nissan, though I'm not sure.

That’s a tough one. American vehicles break down quicker but parts are easy to find. Foreign vehicles rarely break down, but parts are expensive and hard to find

Of course i like modern convenience so my last car was a newer Dodge Charger. It's that muscle car feel with the comfort of a sedan. Also i've seemed to have my best luck with dodge's in total cost of ownership. I have to ne honest i'm far from a gearhead.
