Without a point of reference, you wouldn’t be able to get a blind person to imagine yellow or any other color.

You don’t perceive any other part of the EM spectrum other than visible light. So it would be like an alien who sees X-rays, ultraviolet, and infrared trying to explain those “colors” to you. How do we “see” those parts of the spectrum? We shift them up or down into the range of visible light.

You could say that yellow is the cheeriest color, the best color (because it is), a bright color, the color of the sun in the sky, the color of ripe bananas and many flowers. But none of that would be helpful. You could even give it’s scientific and technical properties… it’s hex triplet is 0xFFFF00 and it’s wavelength is about 580 nanometers. Also no help. You’re simply SOL.

There was once this video I saw on Quora where people used emotions and memories in order to invoke what color is to blind people. Like, "red is passion and fury, anger, and love. Red is how you feel when you found out your ex cheated on you, or when you fall in love for the first time." I thought it was a neat way to go about it.

Well considering they are blind and probably have no point of reference I'd try it with an emotion instead.

Yellow just happens to be my favorite color actually so I would probably describe it as the soft warmth of the sun on your skin with a light breeze. Strong enough to feel but not so overpowering that it becomes a burden. A burst of energy and inspiration when you are unmotivated and stuck. It's a happy and generally calming color.

maybe i would say color is like the "taste" of the surroundings. like if you take a lemon, it has a certain shape. and when you touch it, it has a certain outward texture. and then a certain inward texture, when you chew it. so color is to our eyes, what taste is to our tastebuds. and yellow would be the taste of lemons xD
