As a black woman in many ways I look at white people who get so into Black Lives Matter as hypocrites. Were it not for the news & the bandwagoning - every fool I know doing it so I best join in - after all they'd be sitting at home watching TV. They wouldn't care. If they did... they'd be doing things long before BLM came to the forefront.

If they did care they wouldn't be supporting or partaking in looting, rioting, harassing people, etc. that just supports racist ideology blacks are not decent law obeying citizens. Anyone with half a functioning brain would realize that committing crimes isn't the way to get your message across... unless the intent is to make people hate & despise you.

And many ways I think they're racists. Because they're so ignorant they actually think this sort of disrespectful law-breaking behavior is helpful.

Band wagoners - don't really care - were it not on the news you'd rarely if not never see them

Closet racists - they already view blacks negatively & to them such behavior is "normal" to blacks so why not "act like a black person"

Anti society individuals - they have problems with authority & "the man" - BLM is a "smokescreen" for them to act out & blame blacks for their behavior (we're just following what they did officer)

I'm not being racist against whites. I've some very close white/anglo friends.

The post title is making a very value point... what do majority of whites know about black life? The ghettos, etc.

I think there are multiple possibilities for their motivation, but one that I think doesn't get mentioned enough is that activism is a signaling device that can get you hired, sometimes for well-paying jobs, even if you have the disadvantage in this political climate of being white.
Some of it is also simply ideological- hardcore white leftists are racists that want to control others and have found race a useful avenue with which to do this (it didn't work with class because we had a large middle class).

Oh, I don't deny that a number of my peers are "dumb". If they had any sense they wouldn't drop out of school early for "easy money" sitting on welfare with a half dozen brats. And then whine about how "life is unfair" when they don't even bother trying.
