If you were home alone and people broke into your home and gave you no choice but to fight back, what weapons would use to quickly defend yourself? (Page 2)
1# A gun 2# Pocket knives 3# K-Bar combat knife 4# Sword 5# Bo Staff 6# Chain 7# Metal Piping 8# My Belt 9# My hands, feet n body. 10# I'll use kitchen utensils if I have to ( anything can be a weapon if you need it to be )
@Nikolai2004 Now you are just being silly, the best home defense round is a PDX1 and it is not a slug. Slugs travel through wall, doors, and just about any things else. The second best home defense round is 00 or 000 buckshot.
@Nikolai2004 There you go being silly again, the chances of someone missing a target with 1 projectile as compared to multiple projectiles. We will not even discuss if there are children in the house or if you live in a multi-family dwelling.
We use 00 buck in the military and law enforcement for CQB for a reason, it is cheaper then PDX1 and it does a great job in a room. I shot can take down multiple targets and you just point and shoot. But I am sure with your vast knowledge and experience you would know what you are talking about (NOT). Stick to subjects you know because this is not one that you have a clue about.
My point laid fact on ending him with one shot that will result in severe trauma not putting him down with a bleak chance of survival. Buckshot and birdshot would be very safe if you're even 12 yards away and their aren't any of your family members near the trespasser. The only reason you could shit on slugs in a home defense situation is if your family lwere behind walls and the slug could ricochet and hit them. If you have a good choke then buckshot would be better since it wouldn't scatter anywhere beyond 12 yards, a person can withstand a buckshot blow and if he's armed than that can be a threat to you.
@Nikolai2004 Have you ever shot a person with 00 buckshot? Probably not. I have multiple times and they do not get up. Bottom line if you are using slugs in a home defense scenario you need to rethink what you are doing. Maybe you should start training the military and law enforcement with all your vast knowledge. Let me know when you first class is so I can attend.
Fuck the military and law enforcement they aren't what they used to be. If you care to join the defence league then come on over https://youtu.be/P-Ns1jjBGvU
@johnsmithjs it’s not just the safety of others. It’s far easier tracking a target in partial dark and the noise couple with just a couple of pellets is often enough.
Short barrelled shotguns are the perfect home defence weapon.
Everything can be used as weapon. Much of it even to kill.
The thing is to always go to attract without hesitation or warning and keep on attacking until that person run away or doesn't move. if that person doesn't move be sure he/she can't surprise attack you.
If you need to dispose of the body to not end up with legal problems. there are a lot of ways there they don't even gonna find any traces that he/she even been there.
I'd go for the knife and hammer, and go all elder scrolls on his ass Seriously tho the hammer can be used to hit him and kinda pushed him away and you can shank him in the guts with the knife if he gets too close. Hell you could even yeet the hammer at him and bum rush him with the knife.
That’s fucked. Anyone who tries to break into your house you should be allowed to kill on the spot. Why should someone defending their family/home be charged? If a foreign invader tried to kill others aren’t we taught that you need to fire missiles or whatever to defend your land. There are super strong duty doors on the market you can install to avoid people using weapons or trying to kick it to break in and they work. People should look into stuff like that as well. People should feel safe and secure in their home.

I always carry a curved knife on my belt or the small one in my necklace. The gun is under a small night stand next to the sofa, second one in the middle of the hall. Third one, in the kitchen on fake looking drawer. Last one under the bed assault rifle. Soooo who tries to get in, your life is over. 🤷♂️

To answer the question, I keep blades all over my house and a gun on me at ALL times. Even when asleep, I keep my sidearm within reach. However, home defense is not about what weapons are/are not available as much as it is about how well you use your surroundings. Yes, the intruders have the advantage of the preemptive strike and weapons, but you know your home better than they do. If you either do not have a weapon readily available or you have a weapon you do not understand like you do the use of your own arm, then your best course of action is use your knowledge of your home to your advantage. For example, make it appear like you are complying with them while leading them to an area you can take the advantage. With the right use of your environment and correct tactics, an unarmed person can stop an armed person.
I would definitely buy a shotgun, you dont need perfect aim with those as lots of people are shaky when scared a pistol risks missing the perp and possibly injuring a neighbor as the round pierces walls windows etc. anything other than a gun and you are a sitting duck just sayin.
Hammer or a bat would work well in your case of self defense... As for my house I keep it well defended, I loved in the country for a very long time before moving to a subdivision with my wife. I keep a pistol on my bedside table a d she keeps one of my other ones at her side of the bed in case I am not there, plus I have a number of other firearms as well as my calvary Saber and Bo staff
I've got plenty of knives I can use (for some reason every time I go camping I find a new knife just lying around outside so I've kind of got a collection going). If not that then what ever blunt and heavy object I can find.
.357 revolver that I keep specifically for this potential scenario.
I hope I never have to use it for anything but target shooting. But in the off chance of a home invasion I know I could protect myself and those I care about.
You'd break your arm off in that scenario, a.38 is enough to kill a.357 indoors is inaccurate and kicks back a lot. You don't want to scare them you want to kill them the moment you see them that's why always aim for a mid body shot just a bit towards the right they'll pop their kidney and a relatively quick and very painful death would follow. You got a Colt phyton?
I looked into buying a colt python but did not. And I think you misunderstsnd my motives for buying a gun. I hope I never kill someone. I did not buy a gun with a secret hope to get to kill someone. I bought a gun to have in the event that I *might* need to protect myself.
I don't have any guns, but I do collect combat ready swords, and other bladed weaponry.
So if they forced my hand, I'd see how they do in close quarters combat against them, especially since I do know how to use them.

Depends on what room I'm in and they're in. I'm in the kitchen, I got some long knives. Living room, there's a lot of junk laying around that's easy to throw and we have a couple bats in the closet from when my parents tried to make my brother and I play baseball. TV room, all I can think of is my mom's knitting and crochet needles, which isn't much but with enough force and aiming for the right spot it could do damage. Everything else is on the second floor. If I'm in my room, which is where I usually am, I got a couple NERF guns left in my closet that I for some reason never got rid of I could use as bludgeoning weapons if I really needed to. Past that I just barricade my door with some heavy bins and use the phone in my room to call 911.

If I was in the kitchen, I'd probably grab a knife, but I feel like for me that would be more of a disability, unless I could get a quick stab on the person.
As someone trained in martial arts, I'd be most comfortable using my hands and feet
Your trained with certain arts... I am myself , you would have your neck sliced quickly with your own knife. Better make sure you don't make that mistake
I do have a gun. It's in a central space of the house, but it's hidden. I plan to have a hidden gun in every room eventually. I'm traditionally all about gun control, but there's a lot of nutty people running around in the USA these days, and not being able to defend yourself with deadly force just makes you an easy target. Sorry but this is the world we live in, not the one we want.

My shotgun most likely. My house isn’t big. Good luck dodging 00 buckshot.
A slug would be safer though don't want any lead shots coming at you in a confined space.

Do you care about the wall or a lawsuit? Gotta end him in one shot and be safe yourself.

I loke your idea of pepper spray because I would jist loke to get the heck out and deal with the missing stuff later.
i have an idea of what u just said and i also have no idea

Depends which room they entered. All are armed even bathrooms. You can't pick which window they enter so I'm prepared
Hell yeah.
@Nikolai2004 I'm old school lol

Some spray oil right into their eyes and some flour and then a broom to whack em cos I'm not in the USA lol

Are you kidding? They wouldn’t even get the chance to pose the challenge before being shot dead.
What you mean pose the challenge?
Lol nevermind sorry

A gun, a baseball bat, box cutter, kitchen knife, my bare hands. Whatever is necessary to fake them down.
