Why would someone call me ugly anonymously?

Question

So someone has sent me an anonymous message saying " Why do you act like you are all that when you look like that? You are not that beautiful and i am sure that all the complemets u receive are your fake accounts." I don't know why would someone think this bullshit. I would never fall that low to do such thing and this shows how insecure that person is. Why do you think someone would go and write something like that?

This happened to me yesterday. I made an innocent comment on a meme app and got 50 messages, telling me how I look bad for my age, I’m old AF, and was told by many people how ugly I was and had a fat nose.
I did not handle it well, cause I took it personally and got mad. And he ended up screenshotting it and posted it on his profile. I must have blocked 10 people and it completely ruined my day.
I cannot pretend that it didn’t sting. It majorly hurt my feelings. But my advice to you is not to comment at all and just block them, cause replying to them just makes things worse. Especially if you’re as sensitive as I am.

Idiots who insult people behind a computer screen are just losers who are miserable with their own life. And they’re probably ten times uglier than me and you. They’re just trying to make themselves feel better cause that’s all they care about. Themselves.

Or you can just say, “Thanks for your opinion. But I’d rather have an ugly face than your ugly personality. I feel sorry for you”

It could be insecurity or jealousy or just a desire to rain on your parade. What is more important is your inner beauty. Your characteristics. I would much rather make love to a woman who is honest, loyal, committed, and treats me as an equal and compromises and is what a superficial person would call ugly, than to make love to a woman who is dishonest, not loyal, not committed, and treats me like she is better than I am, and is what a superficial person would call a supermodel.
