I love pets but I can’t have a furry pet due to allergies I wanted a pet cat and a rabbit

They are not really a burden but they are a responsibility. They provide companionship and can sometimes make you feel better.
The really hard part of having a pet is when they die. Too friggen sad.

It sucks when they are old and it is time, but because you love them it is what you can do for them because of all of what they have done for you.

A burden? ... NO. -- A rewarding responsibility? ... YES.
Pets have (& continue to) enrich my life in ways people could never do. They have brought me love & joy & make me a better person.
It is a life-long commitment that people should be fully aware of before they get a pet! Pets are wholly dependent on you for their care & well-being (kinda like kids) -- for life.
If you loose sight of this, you end up like Casey Anthony drugging your infant so you can go party.

Our dog was a small burden as a kid but as it got older it began throwing up every month or so and our house smelled so bad I wanted to throw up every time I smelled the floors he puked on which is why I can’t own a dog unsupervised because I would need a family member or future husband to clean up his vomit.

When I moved to my new house, I was adopted by the neighbours cat,

I now seem to be part owned by the cat lol

so much I even put in a cat flap for a cat I don’t own lol.

I will likely look at getting a cat for me and daughter as we have got used to it.

Well normally no I don't, but my last cat was ill in the last stages of his life and I had to care for him 24 hours a day, we finally decided he wasn't going to recover and I couldn't bare to see him so ill and going through it anymore so had him put to sleep. It's one of the reasons I haven't got another one yet as that really hurt seeing him like that and not being able to help him, took some time to get over that.

I consider pets part of the family. Someone in your family you need to take care of can easily be a burden, but also well worth it.

Having a pet is not for everyone. I have 4 cats and they help me emotionally. Pets give you an unconditional love that I have found that does not exist with people.

I have a very unpredictable work schedule, double shifts, get sent out of town with minimal notice usually less than an hour.

Then please bring your pet to a shelter and let someone else give the proper care the animals needs. Your work schedule is not your pets problem
