Anyone else don't know what to do around kids in public?

Like, in public places? I started to freeze up like a statue n jus real awkward... The other day a mom n her child in a pram sat by me at job centre... And the child kept pointing me and saying daddy... I didn't wanna look at it cos someone would probably think I'm a peeto file... And I definitely couldn't turn to it and say I'm not your daddy... Cos if anyone sees a man talking to a child I might as well turn myself into the police station already... I jus sort of sat there awkwardly staring forward into space like a statue... Such an awkward encounter... Anyone else have these awkward situation with kids in public?
I hope to never experience an encounter with one again...

When they run in front of my cart I just want to “accidentally” nail them, but parents are super entitled, so I don’t do it because I don’t want to deal with the legal repercussions

Society is expected to tip toe around children and I hate it. But I find children depressing anyway, so I just avoid them
