I'm 14 years old and I always see other kids my age (even younger) going out to the park with their friends and I have always known that my parents won't allow me to also do the same. My brother (who is a few years younger than me) gets to go out with his friends. There's always a parent involved but when it comes to friends, my parents put me and my brother on the same level. (always need a parent around) it makes sense why my brother needs an adult because he is younger but that doesn't mean I can't go out by myself with my friends and hang out with them without a parent. In my age bracket, most kids are allowed to go out by themselves (as long as their parent is informed) and it makes me feel trapped at home. I snuck out one time because my parents refused to let me hang out with my friend and to me it was a blast. I had actually felt like a teenager instead of a baby. My mom got upset at me for sneaking out (i have been grounded for 3 months) because she called the cops and she was saying that since i dont want to behave i can do whatever i want and that she doesn't care anymore about me. I really want to go out more, how can i talk my mom into letting me?
