How do you feel when you see kids acting up in public?

Where I live there are lots of ill mannered children, I don't in how a parent could let there kids act like little jerks, why is your kid putting there hand where they can potentially get it broken and why are you looking at me like a asshole for saying something, you should know better than to let your kid touch things that are just there, scream and yell, run around a busy area. Sometimes I wish I could discipline the child and the parent, more so the parent.

I always say “It’s not a trip out in public without a crying child.”


Kids don’t really understand everything, they have massive feelings that can’t fit in their tiny bodies as they experience everything for the first time. A kid cries over not getting a toy their parents can’t afford, or cereal that’s bad for them, or even just because. It’s a common enough experience that I just let it be and carry on.

Understandable but parents should be teaching them how to act in public, I can understand the occasional out burst but when you see a bad kid and can tell the parents do nothing to teach them anything about being considerate, I feel that's wrong. Lots of kids are super good and respectful in public.

Yeah, lots of kids are, and there’s no reason to believe these kids aren’t also like that and just having a bad day. And parenting is exhausting, instead of taking the energy to comfort or discipline them in public, sometimes it’s easier to let them cry it out over something petty. You know how many kids are experiencing things for the first time? Small kids under 5? The greatest pain they’ve ever known is a papercut, the deepest los they’ve felt was trashing an old drawing. That doesn’t mean those feelings are invalid just because we have greater pains to compare it to as adults

I don't see it much here. I saw it constantly when I lived in the USA. They give their children too much power and freedom.

Way too much freedom for kids here, and the parents who don't discipline them are usually bad people theme

I know everyone freaked out at the time, but coming from a former child, I think that leash-and-harness system we tried to get going back in the 90s wasn’t the worst idea I’ve ever seen.
