Is it wrong to ignore children who try to interact with you in public?

Sometimes kids will wave to me or try to talk to me in public and I try to either ignore them or interact with them as little as possible because I don't want to come off as a creep who talks to children he doesn't know. Is that the wrong approach?

A little kid who was like two years old looked at my Dad with a smile one time as the kid thought he was Santa due to his beard. My Dad wasn't arrested, or called a creep by the parents.

Just don't come off as a creep, not that hard to do.

you should wave or say hi. there is nothing creepy about talking to children as long as you don't act like a creep.

i get your concern. but trust me as a father who sometimes has their children engage an adult or am in the position of talking to a child i don't know, it has never been an issue of appearing creepy.

I have kids, as long as they don't seem odd or weird it's fine if your right there. There have been times I wouldn't let strangers come near them. You just gotta trust your instincts. Everyone has their own perspective too though
