If a child is screaming in a public place, is it rude for the parents not to bring them outside?

I’m a server and at one of my tables they had a kid who was probably about 2, screaming and crying the entire time they were sitting.
You could hear the kid screaming throughout the whole restaurant, It was horrible.

They ended up taking their food to go but they still were still sitting there for about 45 minutes. If that was my kid, I would of taken them outside the moment they started screaming. I think it’s rude that she sat there the entire time…like where is the
consideration for everyone else in the restaurant? 🥴

then they had the audacity to get mad at me cause apparently I messed up their order. Maybe I would of heard it correctly if your demon child wasn’t screaming in my ear.

The worst is when parents let their kids run around the restaurant. There servers walking around with heavy trays of dishes and drinks. I’ve had way too many close calls of kids almost running into me while I was carrying one. Control your children please 😭

Depends on the situation like 45 mintues is way too long. One of my kids cry for like 5 mintues and after that I take them to the bathroom or outside to get them quiet. 5-10mintues is fine but anything past that like these parents need to get that kid in line. I don't even allow crying that long at my own house😂

I call that 'inflicting' your children on everyone else. No one wants to hear your screaming child.

Ofc it depends on if they are trying to quiet the child down or just completely tone deaf to their own child.

This is why it's oftentimes a terrible idea to bring little children to restaurants. Only when they are of age should they be brought to sit-down restaurants, like I would say when they reach elementary school age, maybe preschool.

Crying kids don't normally bother me. That's what they do. But sometimes they go totally over the top.

I think its very rude because, most people go to restaurants to enjoy it. They don't want to be bombarded by screaming children that are not behaving and there parents couldn't care less.

I rember a while back me and mates went out to drink. These parents had kids that were running around and one them was trying to get me and my mates attention by pocking and screaming. I decide I couldn't be bothered so I went other to the parents and asked if they could get there children undercontrol or at the very least have them sit down. All I got was "can't you look after them for us we want a break." I decided not to say anything else's but I wasn't particularly pleased with the fact we were lumbered with these loud annoying kids.

Which from a personal experience is why I agree there should be pubs were kids are not allowed and that its incredibly rude.

I believe so yes. Decent parents instill manners / values in their children. Unfortunately times are not what they once were & government / media is having more of an influence on how our children conduct themselves as they mature.
