Did I see a thief?

So I was playing outside with my little brother and then all of a sudden we saw a person with a shopping cart full of clothes. They dropped the clothes, and when they saw us they started freaking out and I pulled out my phone and then they started freaking out even more and then they sped away with the shopping cart full of clothes but left some clothes in the road. Do you think I just saw a thief or just a normal person? I think I saw a thief because people aren't supposed to remove shopping carts from stores. What do you guys think? What should I do? I have already told my dad before you guys start saying well tell your parents.

There are a lot of news stories how thieves steal stuff in broad daylight and no one tries to stop them. They know that they can get away with it, but that is just how stuff is going to go if they keep defunding the police. The guy you saw must have stolen the clothes or he wouldn't have freaked on being seen. Did any of the clothes he left on the road still have their tags on them?

He seems to be a theif I mean he is a thief because he had fear of getting caught. Good that you told your parents.

This was on TV on "Inside Edition" these people were shoplifting
and had a grocery cart full of stuff and was in a getaway car
that had no license plates and most likely you saw a thief or
thieves just are be careful of these shady characters.

I would have tried getting a picture but my mom called us in before I could. This person was walking across the street from our house. I could try to get a picture of the clothes that left tho

@hailiegirl12 It seems like this pandemic has caused a lot of stores closing cause simply no way to control these thieves and you just never know when they leave clothes behind on the ground if it would be safe to take a pic always take someone with you

if there is a next time, shout "fire" and get in doors to safety fast, the reason to shout fire is that is the one word that will nearly always get people to look out their door or windows
