at the vet clinic/shelter near my house, we were told that the more present signs of depression in cats is when their appetite just goes away and they stop eating, and they also tend to sleep a more than their usual
and you also have to check for the other patterns of their usual behaviour, if they used to be very active and playful... and then they stopped doing it so, if they used to interact with other pet or the owners and they stopped doing that as well
should also check for their litter box usage... either it stops, or they stop using random places at the house
if you have not noticed these or other drastic changes, then the cat might not be depressed, maybe, could be just a bit annoyed or frustrated, not amused with the limitation of the cone and cats can be very smart and will want to trick you into taking it off for them, so do NOT do this... lol, maybe you can take it off a bit if you're there to supervise it for the time being
here's a full article about the cone gadget thing

I'm wondering how hard it is to eat with one of those on?
@Daniela1982 it's not easy and not comfortable.. so she should really either, take it off so the cat can eat... or feed the cat herself
Any living thing on some level is capable of feeling emotions, or at the very least have instincts that make it desire or need something.
What do you do about... hell I don't know. How do you make someone feel better about having cancer? I don't think you do, but you give them as much emotional support as you can and get through it.
Keep him distracted with short play sessions spread out through the day (if it doesn’t interfere with the healing process) Chasing string, ribbon or a preferred toy. Mine know how to fetch. It comes in handy when life, such as this, happens.
Get a recovery suit. That’s what I did for my kitty.
What does it has?
The wound is on the side of his cheek so the suit won't help but thanks

I know you just trying to help your cat but put one of those on your head and then put stickers all over your face would you want the stickers off I know they're probably for his wounds so he doesn't scratch it Okay so you've taken away his freedom more or less so give him something give him something to play with something that you can slide around chase after to take his mind off that thing on his neck
That looks to just be a filter or added to the picture manually.
I could see how thet would bother a cat. My mother knitted a sweater for our cat. We would put it on him and he would just sit there until we took it off. We put him outside with the sweater once and he came home without it. In the spring I found it tangled up in our shrubbery.
yes they can. in most cases it can't be helped though. it's not forever anyway, so they just gotta take it.
It will get over it once it starts to heal.
Sometimes we have to go through things it's unavoidable
I would imagine. I know dogs aren't fond of them, and dogs tend to be pretty optimistic.
It can't be helped they have to wait till it is removed
Don't worry about it. It's there because it needs to be. Live YOUR life
@unknowngagsuser Does your cat says " Meeow " ?
