Have you ever committed a traffic violation? What was it?

Question

So just after 3 months that I got my driver's license in 2019, my "friends" and I went clubbing.
I didn't drink alcohol but a "friend" who should be driving did!
So they all begged me to drive them home.. at this point I never drove any car besides the one from driving-school.
While driving, this guy started screaming at me, I asked him to stop and turned my head around and BAM drove over a red light.

The worst part was my "friend" promised to take the blame on her, cause she was the one drinking even tho she should be driving. She begged me to drive but in the last moment well.. yeah.
I would have paid here the money for the ticket but cause my license was pretty fresh I had a bigger punishment than her.
My probation period isn't even over yet, cause it got extended. I could drive right now, but one more big mistake and I might lose my license forever. So I'll wait until next year to get myself my own car.

A traffic violation is the same thing as a moving violation you can get tickets that are not moving violations by the way they're called seat belt violations public drunkenness traveling with drugs on you that's not good but I have found a way to get out of most if not all traffic violations and some non traffic violations... I used to work at Walmart and they give you these little badges that you pin to your collar that tells your name and the department that you work in it's an official Walmart badge and I would keep it hanging from my rear view mirror I found out one night when I got pulled over for not using my blinker when I turn it's because my bulb was blown it was like one night around 1:00 cuz I got off work and as he walked up to the window and he looked in and he saw my Walmart badge hanging from the rear view mirror he said you work at Walmart I said yes sir he said all right we'll have you going here in just about a minute Mr Ramey about he went back to his patrol car radio im to make sure that I didn't have a warrant on me then brought my license back to me and said next time use your blinker sir that took about 45 seconds not a whole minute well I got pulled about five times after that and each time since they weren't nothing very bad running a stop sign and a red light and no seat belt each time the officer saw my Walmart badge hanging from the rear view mirror and he said you you work at Walmart I said yes sir I do he said we'll have you going here in just a minute well it wasn't but about a minute they give my license back to me and said don't run that red light no more don't run that stop sign no more be more careful and let me go you know why they do this oh by the way I was fired from Walmart after the first time I got stopped I just kept my Walmart badge because it turned into a get out of a ticket badge the reason that cops let you go when you work at Walmart is because Walmart pays them real good on Good Friday to just walk around the store and make sure that no one steals anything so if you come across a Walmart badge or if you got a good printer and you can make you one hang it from your rearview mirror and watch it go to work for you it's still working for me and that's been 6 years ago since I got fired from Walmart... I still have Walmart privileges hahahaha

Sure, but not because I was distracted by a passenger.. and over my driving career I only had a tiny number of issues.

Ever learn how to ride a bike? Remember when at first it was really hard to balance and steer at the same time? You're like that when it comes to driving. Don't even think about driving a drunk friend until you are confident with all aspects of driving and really understand the times you can't take your eyes off the road.

Also you learned that you don't have to say yes to friends... they can have somebody else pick them up / uber or whatever.

Yes I have committed traffic violations. Everyone who drives have whether it was by mistake or on purpose. But I've never been caught and cited. I've been pulled over plenty of times for a blinker or registration due. I even got pulled over a month ago for no license plate light and he claimed I was speeding 5 mph over the speed limit. I told him that can't be as I saw him and made a point to put my cruise control on up to the speeding limit. But all times I was very polite to them and they just gave me verbal warnings.

I have never gotten a ticket and I have been driving since I was 17. I am retired from DMV in the US. I don't understand if your age is correct on uout profile why you would be under probation. Do you have additional charges? Are you actually a teen masquerading as an adult in an adult profile? Things are not adding up here.

Yes. Everyone has, whether they realize it or not. Most of the time it is speeding (usually 5-10 over the speed limit, which in most cases cops will let slide). Twice I was involved in what was technically a double-fault accident (meaning both of us were at fault). In the first one, the other guy ran a red light and proceeded to go straight as I was executing a u-turn. The u-turn was legal, but because I was turning while he was going straight (even though he ran the red), I was considered at fault for turning while a car was going straight and he was faulted for running the red. In the 2nd one, I was backing out of a parking spot in a very tight garage with a blind corner. Woman in a camaro speeds around the corner as I am backing out. I could not see her and backed into her. My dashcam caught her speeding. The police said I was not at fault but the insurance company did and ultimately the insurance judgement is what wins.

I drove for over 20 years without a drivers license. I started driving at 9 years old and In that frame I been arrested multiple times and spent weeks in jail.

I never had a DUI or anything. I just believed having a drivers license was a violates my constitutional rights (more on that some other time)

But the last time I was I was in front of the judge. He said you got such and such time to get your DL or your going to state prison for 2 years.

Well that scare the shit out of me. The state was tired of playing with my ass.

So guess who went and got there DL at 35 years old.

Hot penalised 3 times for speeding. Twice I was sent on a police awareness course and once I got points with a hefty fine.

Driven under influence, got stopped by police but they didn’t notice…

Got caught doing 60mph on a 20 zone by police tactical units (SWAT basically), got let off because they were looking for a terrorist and couldn’t be asked with me.

I got stopped by the police once because I had a beard in central London, they mistook me for a Middle Eastern man…

Easily a dozen times or so (parking violations not included), but I always seem to weasel myself out of the heavier consequences. ;-)
My record for speeding was getting caught by a speed camera bridge going 40 km/h over the speed limit in another state. Which was okay, I guess, since for most of the four hour drive I was easily 60-80 km/h over the limit.

I know how it feels, especially if you need a car every day.
Police pulled me over as ignored mandatory drive right sign, I've got 10 points, with 20 points in first year after obtaining driving license it will be revoked.
If driving license is revoked people have to repeat driving schooling and tests as well as a psychological and medical attest is necessary.
Fortunately the 20 points rule lasts only one year if a car is registered on so called "juvenile driver" here.

My cousin got a driving violation for driving with expired or no driving licenses so she's got to pay a fine and she's taking things with a grain of salt but it's not good and I don't ever want to be with her cause it could be worse on her and me for conspiracy to the crime I hope things get better for you and it's shame that they are so hard on you

So I was driving my Audi A4 2005 and like 30 minutes before I had 6 shots of straight Vodka on a Empty stomach so it hit me so HARD. So I decided to take my friends along with me and we drove in a school zone at 75 miles an hour and hit a few speed bumps. Cops were called and I managed to escape the vicinity before they arrived. My while front bumper and hood was covered In red and the wind shield had some hair. Needless to say I am never doing that again.

Crossing a red light on bike/walking.. several times. Was caught once at a very busy spot during rush hour. Luckily for me there were three other bikers in front of me who did the same and only three police officers, so I had to stand and wait for my turn to get fined... but they forgot and went on to the next pair of bikers who violated the traffic lights.. so I walked away. I am not going to actually ask for a ticket xD

I was in a hurry to get to work and I was behind a really slow car on a single lane road so I decided to pass him and it turned out there were a lot of cars in front of him including a school bus so I floored it and then saw a police car on the right shoulder but when I passed the school bus, the cop couldn’t see me so it worked.

I used to get speeding tickets years ago but way after my probation and sometimes a red light ticket but only because it just changed to red while I went through it was still yellow but cops don’t like it when you speed up to get through it before it changes to red

Yes. I was 18. I was hit, but from the Way I was hit, it was considered my fault. I was given to tickets and 3 points on my driving record.
