As for me I ran a system test for personal informational purposes on my General Electric Household Microwave Oven with a model number JNM3163DJ1BB assembled in the land of China on January of 2016. Under investigation & after ever so slightly pressing the start button I noticed that my microwave turntable turned in the CLOCKWISE direction. In addition & after 13 seconds I ever so slightly pressed the pause button & after that I ever so slightly pressed the same button & the turntable reversed direction & turned in the COUNTERCLOCKWISE direction.

*** Please note my General Electric Household Microwave Oven is equipped with a turntable button & if I press it ever so slightly the turntable will not move when the microwave is in use.***

You realize that both “A”and “B”are ”clockwise, and “C” is Varied. You didn’t put a counter-clockwise as a choice! My microwave rotates counter clockwise.

Of course I do, it goes one way and then it stops and I stir and start it again and it goes the other way.

I don't recall ever seeing a microwave with a turntable that rotated counterclockwise.

Clockwise! Always! What annoys me is putting a mug of cold coffee in to reheat. No matter what you set the timer to, the mug handle is always on the other side when you go to take it out.

That's basically the reason that I asked the question. I was having the same problem. 🫤 Next time you are microwaving things, pay attention and make sure that it's actually going clockwise. Because mine varies. Sometimes it goes clockwise, and sometimes it goes counterclockwise. p

Could be a synchronous motor. Some will run either way.

in the northern hemisphere they go clockwise (if geared correctly)

in the Southern Hemisphere, they go the opposite direction due to pole reversal.

Electricity flow differently due to South Pole influence over the North Pole, think magnets and the like.

Ahhh yes! I didn’t think about the coriolis effect! I’d imagine, when you combine coriolis with the lateral angular forces from the earth procession, we’re lucky the damnedt microwave doesn’t simply fly off the counter all together, every time you use it! Man, this seemingly innocent topic got very serious, very quickly! 🌍 😂

Every microwave I've ever used reverses direction each time you start/stop it. I'm pretty sure it's a standard design feature.

My microwave doesn't have a turntable ☺️ but they typically go clockwise sometimes they go the other way in defrost setting

Mine goes both directions, and if it encounters resistance it will reverse mid cycle

My microwave oven doesn’t actually have a turntable. It’s a combination inverter microwave from Panasonic. If had it a while now, and seems to work quite efficiently.

I think mine goes counterclockwise and you only have clockwise twice

It may start out turning one way, then stop it and restart, it will turn the opposite way.
