I can't stand the beeping noise. On my old microwave I stopped it with one or two seconds remaining. Our newer microwave has an option to shut off the sound, so it's always silent and I just let it run out. I love it!

Yeah, I used to do this when I had a microwave, because I hated the microwave's bell. I think this obsession equals closing the fridge door slowly to see the light going off.

I only do that if the dog or my wife is sleeping so the beeper doesn't beep 5 times to wake them up.
