But do you use the different settings or just stick with the same one regardless? do you sort out your laundry or just bung everything in all mixed up?

You see, the knob is like the unsung hero of everyday duties, quietly and efficiently setting the stage for the care of our dirty habits.
But, don't mistake my appreciation for the knob as a mere passing interest. Oh no, this is a deep and abiding fascination that rivals even my infatuation with fried eggs in rice pudding. You see, the knob is the gateway to a plethora of options, a knob of possibilities that allows us to tailor our experience, depending on if you twist it left or right or just leave it as is.
Oh, as Boobslayer twists that knob, his heart races with anticipation, much like the chesticles of Cousin Stacy during one of our lively family reunions. Will I opt for a gentle cycle, where the chesticles are lovingly caressed with a gentle swish? Or perhaps a more vigorous spin, where the knob works its magic and makes the sheets jump like jugs jiggling with joy.
And let's not forget the temperature settings, another feature that showcases the knob's versatility. Do I go for a steamy experience, akin to the scorching summer days when no amount of fiery biscuits can quench one's thirst? Or do I opt for a cool one, reminiscent of a gentle caress on an autumn's eve, something that makes the boom booms tingle with delight?
Now, you may be wondering, Boobslayer, how can you possibly find the time to contemplate the intricacies of your knob when there are so many other delightful distractions in your life? And to that, I say, there's a time and place for everything, my dear friend.
While I'm not suggesting that the knob occupies the same level of adoration as, say, the jugs that grace @Cousin_Stacy, but it does hold a special place in my heart – one that is nestled between Stacy's delightful coconuts.
So yes I do indeed take notice of my knob. It is a humble knob, yet a vital part of my experience, quietly ensuring that we stay fresh.
My washer has no knobs, just a touch panel. But, yes, I know how to use it properly, and my laundry is sorted and run with the proper amount of soap and water on the proper temperature and wash cycle settings. I specifically did research and bought a very good washing machine (a Whirlpool Cabrio, which uses tech licensed from New Zealand appliance company Fisher & Paykel) with an endorsement from a friend who is an appliance repair tech.
But even back when I was poor and needed to gather quarters to wash clothes, I knew how to use the machine properly. It's a MACHINE, and I'm a DUDE, so of course I had to know how every function worked. That's just my nature.
I don't bother to separate things. All my clothes go in at once, I do a mix colors wash. The only thing I wash separate is sheets and duvet covers because stuff ends up getting all caught up inside it and it's a pain. Plus I like to use bleach or some kind of heavier cleaning agent on sheets
I do a couple, delicates, harsh wash - normal wash, colour wash and for everything home knitted - don't know what that one is called in English

I never used the "whites" setting because it's racist and I'm trying to be less white.
I never use the setting for "delicates" because that would be un-manly.
I always wash my clothes separately from the towels and sheets, but I always just use the "normal" setting as opposed to "heavy duty".
My wife washes all her own clothes because she doesn't want me to wreck them.
🤣🤣🤣
I have an electronic front loader and you have to use the knob each time to start. Normally I use the cold wash for basic clothes, unless it's a soiled load. Basically should go by what the wash tags say on the clothing. Most may say "cold wash, tumble dry low" then you get some like jerseys or major polyester that say no fabric softener so those go separately. Or whites and sheets, which can go hot. Sanitize could take two hours but if someone was sick in-bed with sheets or heavily soiled that's a good option.

As for me I throw my shit in, put some liquid stuff in it, hit the start button & hope the washing machine doesn’t dance across the room.
Most of the times, and because I know my clothes, I use the same settings with the washing machine: normal cycle at 60°C. The more delicate silky clothes are washed separately by hand, and very occasionally real wool goes in the machine at 30° normal cycle. I never use other settings.
Sorted by colour and ability to withstand heat, usually a 30 degree wash, sometimes "boil" wash for towels, bedclothes, etc., most things get hung up to dry.
Our machine isn't racist, it has settings for both whites and coloureds.
Just use the same, as my clothes are more or less the same. Cotton with more or less plastic fibers. So i only choose between 30 and 60° and use eco mode to save energy and water.
I don't have wool or silk or any other fancy fabrics.
I make sure the knob works. I often rotate it to some random setting to see how it affect scleaning the clothes. After all, I paid for a washer with a knob... I'm goin to use it.
I must confess that for 99% of the time ours is set on a "Daily Quick" cycle.
Why are your questions always so hard first I can't find the washing machine now I can't find the wife I can't even find the girlfriend so now what's the next move you could make your questions a little bit easier you know
I just tend to use the 'Mixed fabrics' setting unless I need to do a boil wash, but those are few and far between
My washing machine has a Boots and Animal Hides setting. I usually use that.
Pretty much the only time I change it is to put it on "bulky items" when I wash a load of bedding or towels.
I just hit the big green button that says “go”
What's a washing machine? Lmao 🤣 🤣
Different fabrics get washed differently
I might just change setting i am washing towels or my sheets. I do use the regular setting most but I was shirts with shirts pants with pants and underwear and socks.
We've agreed on delicates, normal, and cotton. Ignore all else.
Well the first thing to remember is that everything is cotton. Given that, one setting is for Wash and another is for Dry.
All men are not as stupid as you assume them to be
I keep it on the cold wash for everything. Including the spin cycle
Yes. I select the best one for my laundry. The washer functions differently
I use it and even modify the defaults sometimes.
Mine's digital, but yes there are many settings for water level, rinse, spin etc.
I sort my laundry. My wife doesn't
Only when I wash my clothes, lol.
