What was the last thing that made you feel proud of yourself?

Elderly lady who was really nice that all the kids in the neighborhood growing up. Her porch was falling off her House and she paid some guy to fix it. He half finished a "sham" build and was in her bedroom stealing checks to buy crack (yeah, he's like three drugs behind most addicts lol)
I felt so bad I offered to do it for free.
I wound up tearing off the crap he built and building a new porch for her. A couple weeks of hard work and scaffolding was down , the porch looks great.
The neighbors (a group of illegal Mexican immigrants terrible people they are ) came out and hauled away all the old debris and a tree I had to cut down early in the morning one day.
That was an amazing thing you did. You were probably one of her best stories of her life to share with others after that. Everyone that crosses her porch will know you fixed it.
Getting my idea of a ‘Doggie Crèche’ sorted and approved.
Over lockdown and people forced to work from home or put on furlough, a lot of people interested more with their pets.
The sudden shift back to work after being home for over a year at home can create anxiety with your dogs (and cats to lesser extent).
Also some bought dogs over lockdown and a return to work means them being left alone.
i decided to get funding at work to set up a dog area on some unused part of company land.
i had this fully approved last year and now people can return to the office and bring, well behaved, socialised dogs with them.
Also all dogs must be vaccinated.
I love it! Very thoughtful. That atmosphere is just as comforting for people too.
@dustybiker thank you for MHG, most appreciated
You are welcome. 🐾
(Those were supposed to be paws. lol Bummer.)
Awww love those doggy paws

Making enough space on my external harddrive for my... art...
Freedom to express yourself.
I’m happy for you. Keep creating
Learn how. It’s fun.
That's a tough one for me, my childhood and up bringing pretty much beat any ability to be proud of myself about my accomplishments out of me. My family see being proud of my own accomplishments as being big headed and egotistic, I say my accomplishments as it was fine for ny parents or brother to be proud of theirs.
I have learnt to break free from this kind of thinking but I still find it uncomfortable having proud thoughts towards myself.
My proudest accomplishment in life was to being able to turn my back on my family and their money and power, and make it on my own in life and be successful.
As for recent thing I'm proud of, was to sever all ties with them finally and for good. Even though I left them behind at 18, I still allowed them to have space in my head, and feel guilty for the way I felt about them, and remained in a limbo state of obligation to them. No longer will I allow them to manipulate and use me.
And yes I am proud of that, I could have easily just sunk into the world of my families power and influence for an easy life, but I hate that world and I chose to break the poisonous cycle of my family heritage.
Are we related? 👀
@TrueConfection
Always a possibility 😂
@DonkeyDan I’m glad you found that strength. You're too good a person to be held unhappy.
@TrueConfection You too? Gah.
-Home projects. I recently removed popcorn ceiling in two of the rooms in my house. It was quite physically straining on my arms and back. I also ripped up carpets and removed all of the carpet tack strips in those same two rooms. I’ve never done anything like that before and I was nervous to start. Eventually I will lay down laminate flooring.
-I left someone who began abusing alcohol and in doing so, caused emotional pain for me. Even though I love this person, I won’t be a casualty of his alcohol abuse. It took awhile for it to feel like something I should be proud of rather than feel guilty for.
@AndrésC64 Thank you for the encouraging words. ❤️
I agree with @AndrésC64 That takes strength leaving someone like that. You are brave. I hope the remodel labor helps the healing process. It feels good when you do a project yourself anyway.
@dustybiker Thank you for your kind words. It is definitely a distraction and the physical activity wears me out so I can sleep better.
seeing "all of my kids" getting better grades at their school... every, single, one of them... it's been almost a year round of tutoring during these ~online school times~
final exams and grades are coming... and they're all optimistic and confident that it will be just fine and I really am very much proud of them (not myself)
You should be proud of yourself. If they are doing online schooling it’s you that keeps their attention. That can’t be easy.
My taekwondo instructor has Zoom moments he has to breathe… lol
the struggle of preparing classes for them individually can be a bit nightmarish sometimes but it is all worth it... but it has became way easier over time, and also, they need me less and less nowadays which is a great sign because they're doing more things on their own, but yes... it does feel good (=
That sounds bittersweet in a way.
maybe so, but that's the main goal... helping them to find their own answers and solutions, teaching them how to, and giving them the missing pieces they didn't get somewhere along the way... till they're back on track and ready to go on their own
They’ll remember you for it.
I set up a meeting with two students because one of them had just arrived to the city and didn't know anyone. She felt more comfortable after that meeting and the other student thought it was a good thing as well to meet up all together. Patted my own back for that one.
That was thoughtful of you.
At work, I took initiative and implemented a very crude check list on a modification of a product. To my pleasant surprise, the guys did check off the stages of the mod. Later, the leader discussed my little idea with the quality control guy in a casual setting.
The little things really can effect you, can’t they? Good for you.
DANGER.. Will Robinson.. DANGER...
IF I you brag about your Good deeds, you will reap your rewards here on earth (approval or praise from friends)... and NOT in heaven... I never tell about ANY my GOOD DEEDS... God knows and the recipient knows and it's nobody elses business
No one here seems to be bragging. That’s your perception.
I love this question. It inspires me to see other peoples’ responses here. Very uplifting. Look at everyone encouraging each other!
*Also, if you’re only engaging in good behavior because you believe you’ll be rewarded, is that truly the right reason for it?
The world is so filled with negativity. We need more joy and encouragement.
@DarkCarousel opinions (including mine) are like assh*les, everyone has one...
@DarkCarousel asking me what I did that I am proud of? is No one business... and I gave my reason, Bragging on here (even if you are inviting it) is very bad Kharma
@Waldoe You could have skipped the question. I do appreciate your thoughts though.
I think self-pride is far different than bragging or boasting. We don’t usually go out with a goal to make our own selves proud, it’s something that often sneaks up on us. Sharing is something asked by me, so that too should soften any karmic blows.
@DarkCarousel I also appreciate yours thoughts.
@dustybiker Anytime. I really like questions like these. Kind of unites people through compassion when you read the things people feel proud of themselves for. Anyway, I digress.
@DarkCarousel I feel the same way. It humbles me when people open up.
My “women’s” exceptional skill set loves money so much…my banking bag, with 2 straps of 20s (4000.00) has been moved into her things. Done, right to 20.00, and none of my Business what she does with her secondary income source. She keeps the ripped off straps on a self-made rear view mirror thing.
And, you need to be at “said location in one hour, and get MY bag as my martini bill has exceeded Monday through Thursday morning Revenue. Best way I know to go broke 🙃
Almost perfected my pasta.
Tastes bomb af
Yum. What’s the mix?
Cooked ground beef/turkey in some marinara sauce.
Made alfredo sauce, mixed the marinara, gruyere cheese, ricotta, provolone, mozzarella with the italian seasonings and ground pepper. Then layered it with parmesan, more pepper, and oregano.
Mozz and prov on top. And "seasoned" the noodles with salt pepper and Italian seasonings.
The ricotta is what makes it.
My friends tore it up, lol.
Sounds like something I would order out. What are you thinking would make it perfect?
Better than lasagna. 👍🏻👍🏻 That sounds really good!
I just got an A on a business law paper. I really wrote 2 papers in one. Sooo proud. Thanks for asking! How about you?
@AndrésC64 I'm a pharmacy tech so my papers revolve around pharmacutical. We were told to choose a topic on patent law so I found a case that went to the supreme court over a drug law loophole over a drug patent. Boring but I wrote about each case as it made it's way up instead of choosing one. The lower two courts made the moral choice but not the legal one I was suprised. Supreme court made the legal choice but wrote how it was immoral but the law. Usu these are settled it's rare to fight that far over a drug patent. Most drug discoveries never make it to market. So I also investied in the winning company after reading the drug trials as if successful can cure a lot of illnesses and has made it a lot farther though trials than most drugs. I want to run a department in a pharma company. Boring boring lol but thaks for asking it's very nice of you <3
That is a big deal to be proud over. Good for you. Good luck on your dream too.
@AndrésC64 Lol thanks! I am sure it sounds a bit dull but I find it interesting. I only have a two yr degree so I'm lucky to have theh oppertunity at this time as well.
@AndrésC64 Yes I was in managment before I earned my 2 yr tech degree. Now currently I am ya know at the highest level a tech can reach. There not a lot of advancement. The pay not bad but you need a doctorate to run a pharmacy. Pharmacists are pharmacy managers. I miss working in managment so I am a general buisness and a healthcare business major. Then after I can run like a drug development department in a drug company. I have made a few contacts. It is very interesting to me and I did well in managment prior. Also a lot of other jobs I could attain as a fall back as you never know with the ecomomy but pharmacuticals are the backbone of the ecomony really. Yes actually my buisness law teacher is not my biggest fan. We had to write a paper and online discussion on why intellecual property rights are good or bad and ya know everyone writing the same thing over over whatever so I did my paper on why they are of a benifit and the discussion on why they are a neg and he gave me an A but said he failed to see how they were bad but I guess you followed the assignment. I don't know my other teacher thought is was outside the box thinking lol. I though it was just playing devil's advocate otherwise just ask to to write about why they are a benifit. Apparently no one else had ever picked that side. I don't know he a grumpy dude. He needs to get laid.
I recently took the first step in a major career change that might actually land me a job that pays a decent wage.
Hey, that’s big change. All the best with that.
Getting the 2021 business books reconciled and closed before the end of January.
That must feel good!
Got a research paper published and got my semester finals results and it was good.
That must feel good to have something published and your results a relief. 👍🏻👍🏻
Ohhhh I never write about anything cool lol. Yes I hear you on deadlines my homework is quite detailed. I didn't go to high school so when I attained my two yr degree and started working on my two master's last yr I need straight A's lol. I am making up for what I missed. I moved out young and was married young. I am working on 2 buisness degrees so it's usu about something boring lol. Yesssss Congrats! I always use all the time allowed haha. Keep going your doing fantastic!
Doing things that I'm not comfortable with, like socializing.
You ask good questions. I’m always interested in answering them.
Thank you, too. 😎
Thanks. I'm actually pretty introverted and fairly shy IRL. I don't like small talk, I'd rather have more serious / in-depth conversations. I don't think I would say that I really lack confidence in conversations. But I do lack self-confidence and self-esteem around others, if that makes sense.🤷🏼♂️
Do you feel GaG helps that?
Such a good movie. I don't know I could give a lecture naked I could give an F. What other people think about ya is none of your business. If someone doesn't care for ya after ya put yourself out there it means better people are going to be in your life. I always shoot my shot. Tomorrow is always a new day. I do find that most people are not like that lol. Good for you to get outside the comfort zone. My life made me that way. I moved out at 14 and the high road the hard road. Not much can bother me.
Starting classes to become a contractor. Never stop learning…
What about you? Let’s be proud together?
@nawtee_me I’m a believer in that quote too.
Thank you for asking. (@bside I know you did too TY) I’ve done a lot of projects around the home myself. I tend to have the ideas come to me, and see them finished, so I know it’s possible then trust and dive in. So far they’ve always turned put as planned. To make @Waldoe happy, I never have taken credit for them whether the idea is really mine of not.
Made five (seasonal) table runners for my wife and just bought material on sale to make five more.
A man with talent. Nice!
I didn't beat up some dumb drunk kid at the bar who wanted to fight. I kept my cool.
Be proud. I’m sure the sober version of the kid had regrets and appreciated that.
Oh, details make the story. Great job, by the way, along with the self control.
If I can get up in the morning and go to the bathroom and get dressed, I’m actually more amazed than proud.
That I somehow got all the deliveries off today considering how late I left
That must have felt good. Done and dusted.
Yeah and made over 3 hours overtime
Even better. 👍🏻
Gave a blanket to old lady sitting outside on foot path
That was really thoughtful and kind. 💗
Yup i kinda asked her a few things too so i dont end up givin to someone who isn't needy
I tracked down the killers of my father. And asked if they’re prepared to die.
What did they reply?
Getting a promotion! 👍
👏 Yes! 😁 Well deserved by the way.
Thanks! That’s all in recent memory. My loving fiancé likes to bring me back to earth. Don’t worry. I retaliate. 😊
@PrettyPriya lol Start training him now. 😉
(kidding to all the men on here that just rolled their eyes.)
@dustybiker He is in training and doing better. He gets “treats” for good behaviour. He still has a ways to go but trending in right direction. 😊
@PrettyPriya lol Keep at it. With you on his arm he’ll do just fine.
@dustybiker Thank you for this lovely and fun conversation. Made me smile a whole bunch this morning. Love it! ❤️
@PrettyPriya Same. 😎 (Sorry I was distracted a couple hours. Turned into a movie night.) Have a great rest of your day.
@AndrésC64 Thanks!
Thank you @dustybiker as well!

Watching my daughter play with her dolls and copy how I interact with her.

Going back to finish my degree finally
Good luck!
Thank you!
When I Published my Book!
Should I ask for an autograph now or later? 😎 Great on you!
Very Sweet, Thank you!
Getting my associates degree at 18.
That must have made your family proud too? Good for you.
Yes, until I gave up on college after getting my bachelor's. I was planning on going to med school, but just burnt out on the education system. I even did pretty well on the MCAT, except for the writing section. I was just average on that part; however if I would have known it would be a part of the test I would have prepared for it.
Have you ever thought about going back? Or are you happy now?
Yikes.
Made sure my girls don't have any lumps.
Hopefully all safe and clear?
Yep, and the squish was no where near as bad as I thought it would be.
Yeah, I think it hurts more when an appointment takes place at the end of a monthly cycle when tender anyway.
Yeah, best to schedule it the first week. For me it wasn't even painful (I mean pretty uncomfortable sure but that's it).
That’s good. I’m glad you’re all clear. Always a relief to get.
When i made her squirt 15 time in one session in a matter of minutes.
You should do something every day to be proud of
“Do one thing a say that scares you.” E. R.
Words I live by.

Fixing our dishwasher
Bet that felt good? I need to oil my microwave vent fan, going to see how much trouble I can cause getting in there myself too.
Good luck 👍
Thanks 😎
