Cheetas and panthers can be domesticated to the point that they become big house cats.
There is also a history of US mountain lions being domesticated.

Male lions can also be domesticated. There is a famous photograph of a 12-year-old Melanie Griffith in bed with her pet cat, who was an adult male lion.
Cheetas have been pets of the rich and powerful (imagine the meat bill) for thousands of years. They will walk on a lead and heel like a dog.
On YouTube, there are videos of a panther who was adopted by a couple in Siberia. The panther is a playful cuddles bug who purrs and behaves as though he was any other black house cat, though much larger.
Tigers can also be semi domesticated, but that appears to work only with young males and a few older males.
Adult female tigers cannot be trusted.
My daughter used to help to walk the tigers around a theme park called Dreamworld, when she worked there.
That was done on leads before Dreamworld opened.
The tigers took the lead and visited their favourite humans among the Dreamworld workers, for chin scratches and cuddles.
All of their favourites were cat people, who had a furry family at home.
Cats know, whatever size they may be.

I had never heard of a caracal before, but I guess it's good to know who Groucho Marx bequeathed his eyebrows to.

Anyway, no love for the hyena? They're strong enough to fight off lions and bite through iron bars, and have a wheezing noise they make that sounds like choking laughter, plus their eyes glow in the reflected light when they chase your car. I have no idea how they're considered LESS scary than lions.

But maybe they're not feline enough for you. In that case, I'll go with snow leopards. I've always been partial to them.

I like all of them, but tigers are so pretty. My favourite big cats are probably snow leopards though

G: I'm going to have to go with Mountain Lions. I live really close to several areas that are their habitat. The stupid hikers who don't stick to trails and ignore trail closer signs due to animal spotting signs are a huge bonus. The stupid people that can't fallow wildlife safety rules are a huge bonus too.

E Leopard, they are the most adaptable of the 'Big' cats, they were living in Indian, Asian and African cities for decades before anyone knew they were there, it turns out these big cats could be valuable neighbours: by preying on feral dogs , they are reducing the risk of people catching rabies.

I thought leopards and panthers were the same thing and I was looking for a good ol American cat. Like the Jaguar because it doesn’t need to go for the neck it just bites through the skull and hemorrhages the brain. Sick!!!
