I’ll get the Buzz Killington part out of the way first…. don’t make your home TOO wild, structurally anyway. You may want to sell it one day, and potential buyers are like “uhhhh…it’s got a BOWLING ALLEY?”, or whatever crazy shit you build, haha.
That dorky shit aside, I’ll play the game a bit and dream…
So a lot of dudes want their man-cave, no shock there. But I want multiple —and THEMED— man-caves, so I can switch up the vibes depending on the mood I’m in or want to get in. Endless ideas for themes…Hawaiian Tiki theme, hunting lodge, mid-century modern den, 80s pop art, college dorm room…shit, I’d even love a real tacky one with a plastic-covered couch and those LED moving portraits of waterfalls or tropical beaches that they sell at those weird stores in shitty shopping malls that only seem to sell said pictures, small pewter statues of wizards and dragons with some kind of crystal or fake gemstone incorporated in it, and little ceramic Buddha-shaped bamboo holders, lmfao. I might be dating myself, maybe that was a 90s-00s thing, but I’d always see those places, never with a soul in there, but they’d never go out of business😂
Let’s see, besides man-caves, I’d love a big aquarium room, but a really big one with only small fish, so it doesn’t feel so inhumane, it’d still be a big world to them, haha.
I would definitely have an indoor hockey training room (or my own rink, in my wildest fantasies, haha) that had enough room to play a fairly open game of downsized hockey, complete with these dry-land tiles you can put down as the floor that you can actually SKATE ON, let alone stickhandle/pass/shoot on as a reasonable facsimile of an ice surface.
I go back and forth on having a home gym. It would make all the sense in the world for me, yet at the same time, I feel like I enjoy going to a gym with other people. Not sure why, we don’t really interact, but something about it just makes me more likely to go, less likely to skip, haha.
I’d also love a backyard like Mr. Miyagi had in The Karate Kid. The recreation looks less impressive in Cobra Kai (probably need lawn space for the kids to train there, haha), but in the original movie it’s like series of wooden docks and bridges over what I’d imagine is a koi pond. Gotta have something tranquil like that👍👍

I hope you have a really good job, or a really good inheritance...
I'm an Audio/Video Integrator, so I work on projects like this (not the construction component, but all of the A/V gear), and it definitely isn't cheap. I worked on a home theater room something like your 4th pic, except with a projector, and the customer ended up spending about $80,000 on the project. Had he gone with the laser projector instead of the bulb projector, he'd have shelled out another $18,000 on that alone.
The vintage arcade games are also very expensive - mostly because they're 40 years old and they all need repairs and parts to keep them going, and because the rarer and/or more desirable games are going for crazy collector's prices today. They also need a ton of space unless you only have a couple, and they use a lot of power.
Don't mean to step on your dreams or anything, but just know what you're getting into. Unless you are fortunate enough to have a really good-paying profession, it's definitely not going to be easy.
I would actually like to build the house, like sit down with a professional and tell my wishes 😅 I already know how I would like it to look like, what rooms I'd like to have and what design I'd like to go for 😅 I have Pinterest boards for almost every room 😅 (okay now I'm ashamed lol).
I always joke about how I have it all planned out, and the only thing I need is money 😂 Even tried to get my sister who is a civil engineer to draw/design one for me 🙈

Thinking of upgrading. Personally, I'm not a fan of stupid bullcrap like whole rooms dedicated to being a home cinema. I mean, just furnish the lounge room for entertainment. Or a fucking arcade. Totally pointless to have a room full of arcade cabinets unless you're running an actual arcade where people come and pay to play the machines.
I do have impractical ideas of my own though. Like a pub room. In other words, a room with a bar, sports memorabilia, a pool table and a dart board. Maybe even a little booth for drowning your sorrows alone. Thered be room in there for one arcade cabinet with a computer inside running MAME if you like too. But that's just unnecessary extravagance.
What a house really needs these days, is a quiet office space. Perhaps an upstairs extension away from noises like dog barking and lawn mowing etc going on outside. Sound proofing etc. Work from home jobs are getting very popular now that we've all realised there's no reason to travel to an office block to do shit you could do at home.
A pool would be nice too. Fresh bbq area with a pool. You should be made aware that some home renovations and additions might result in higher property taxes. If the project increases the livable square footage of the house, increases the number of people who could live in the house, or costs more than set amount of money, often as low as $5,000, expect a tax hike.
Permits for improvements such as new bathrooms, a new fireplace, an in-ground swimming pool or hot tub or improvements, such as new fencing will alert the local assessor’s office. Expect a visit from city building inspectors. There is a LOT more to owning a house than most people suspect.
Regardless, good luck in your plan to become a homeowner. My house is too small to do anything extravagant. however in the future my goal would be to have a house that can open up and have a better indoor/ outdoor experience
If I were to buy new or move a second time, I would specifically look for: a mud room by the "side" or "back" entrance, or just inside the garage "pass-through" door. That would save BUNCHES of aggravation.
Also, I'd have to have a music room. Right now, there are two organs in our living room, and a piano in our "very multi-purpose" sunroom (an addition).
The basement has a pool table, but I have make sketches of how to (dump the table ) and convert it into a mini-theater with seating for 6 to 12, depending on configuration.I have both of my fantasy houses and am looking to buy my third. I am retiring from a life in IT and going into real estate development next year.
What you have to remember is that there are houses for show, house for living and houses for occasions. We had a 3 bedroom house built. It was pretty basic with not too many frills. A few years later we added a large family room with a big screen tv along with a 2 car garage. A few years after that we had a 4th bedroom and master bath added on. We had a second floor put on the new bedroom that I built a home theater setup with surround sound. We also use this room as a home gym and there is a hot tub there as well.
Absolutely. I would like to have my house build to my specifications if possible. Large garage/workshop, a gaming/entertainment room and a safe room. Recently I think a greenhouse garden would be a lot of fun and very rewarding, though a lot of work.
Bro, you're going to begin with a starter home than go from there. You can make a home a dream home if you are willing to learn DIY (which is actually fun).
Your fantasy will end when you get married and your wife dream kills anything and any ideas you have for a home.Man cave is mandatory with memorabilia of all my favorite sports teams for baseball, football amd basketball to go with game art from my favorite video games.
Home gym that has free weights and cardio. Decent garage, AKA man cave number 2.If I ever decide to get my own house I want rooms like this pic
Many homeowners place a premium on having a cozy living room, a useful kitchen, and a peaceful bedroom. Others take into account a large backyard, a home office, or a chic bathroom renovation. Based on individual preferences and lifestyle requirements, it differs.

Only special thing would be a man cave for lack of a better term. Pool table, big screen and beer fridge
I won't own -or plan- my own home unless I will build it myself.
I do have ideas - but there's no hurry still.- u
Talk to an architect make some plans and a design and figure out the cost
I'd LIKE to get one of them "converted" into my record/music/recording room.
A home gym, a sauna, somewhere for a piano (I'll learn to play), a big kitchen, an office, a bar
I don't need a movie theater room or a mini-casino. My needs are minimal at my age.
Depends if a woman is involved. Because if so…no arcade room. I have one tiny office. The rest is hers.
I think I’ll need only two excluding the default ones like kitchens and bathrooms
