When you come upon a car accident, someone is hurt, or any type of emergency what do you do?

I go immediately to the situation to help

I only will help if other people are helping too

I call 911 for them

I will call 911. Other then that I get to emotional to do much else. There has been the odd time when things go way wrong. Instinct must have kicked in & I did what had to be done only because no one else was there or did anything to help.

As a registered nurse and also good samaritan I would first call 911 to get them on their way and then I would do what I could to help.

Call 911. Run over to see if anyone needs assistance but avoid physical contact unless it is absolutely required for fear that I might inadvertently cause them harm. I don't want to get sued for trying to help.

Go to the situation and see what you can do, call the emergency number (911 eg when in the US) and provide help until firetruck/ambulance/police/ arrive.

In germany you commit a crime when you don't help.

I will offer help. I have an excellent first aid kit in my car, and I was trained to perform CPR (but I have not recertified since retiring in 2013).

I keep some emergency equipment in my truck for such occurrences. A fire extinguisher and a big pry bar among other stuff. I did get somebody out of a car that flipped over about 10 years ago.

If there is a group already there I move on to avoid crowding the scene, but if someone needs help I stop and help.
