Is being gay a stigma?

It greatly depends on country, society and religion on how accepted they are.

A lot of the above still live in the 6th Century BC and preach hatred towards pretty much everything, with homosexuality being a prison or effectively a death sentence.

If you have a boss that is religious, work in a country where it’s illegal etc, then yes very much so.

Like, you would be deluded if you thought gay people face no social judgement at all. They certainly do.
Today the benefits, socially, likely outweigh the negatives. It is of course not very practical to sum it up, as me getting a compliment and an insult does not mean nothing happened.

I would say being gay or lgbt is pretty accepted in general in the US. But I still hesitate to hold my husbands hand in public sometimes, because every once in a while I still hear some homophobic remark from someone.
Or even this website is a great example. I come across ignorant comments about gay people on this site everyday.

"Being gay" isn't a stigma. There is a stigma around it though, in some places, among some communities. Not everywhere or for everyone though I don't think.

No but the fact that they still need to keep pushing in this sexuality in every modern movie and game is. It should remain a minority, even if its an accepted one.

I would say there is a definitely a stigma about a guy that is gay, Bi and/or curious. The stigma is so much so that a guy who’s slightly curious would feel major stress / angst about having wanting to try it…..

Yes and should be. The immense majority of the population throughout the world doesn't accept gay as normal.
