Mine did today, no lie I got caught lacking 🤣

They confused me for someone else they IDed me and then asked if I knew someone and they showed me a picture, it was in black and white but still, it looked nothing like me lol

Funny thing is that I knew who it was 😂

I told them I didn't because that's not my problem, that would involve me in something I had nothing to do with, the cop cut me off at a parking lot tho, I feel like it was an old case tho cause the mugshot had the dude with short as hair and if he confused me with my long ass hair, it must be an old crime right? 🙃

I got this funny incident one time in Shibuya, Tokyo, where I was walking down the street and realized I left my cell phone in the previous bar. Yet there was a crime scene in front of me (not right in front, maybe 200m away in the distance with police cars everywhere) but I was a bit drunk and maybe not thinking about it so much so I started sprinting in the opposite direction to get my cell phone before the bar closed.

Then the police at the scene chased after me on foot and I stopped. Then they asked what on earth I'm doing fleeing from a crime scene and I explained that I left my cell phone in the bar. I didn't really register how suspicious I looked doing that since I was pretty drunk.

So they patted me down and looked through my pockets and my wallet and I just started making a bunch of chit-chat about how forgetful I am and how I tend to lose things all the time.

Then they asked me why I'm wearing a hat and I told them that I had the worst haircut by a grandma type of woman for only 1000 yen ($10 haircut) and I'm embarrassed to show it. Then they told me to remove the hat and I was like, "Fine, see! Looks like shit!" Then they said it wasn't so bad and so I pulled out my cell phone with a picture of me with my previous haircut and then they said like, "Oh yeah, that's maybe not the best haircut on you. Your previous one was way better!"

After that, I started talking about girls a lot and I was really drunk so I was like, "I really like pretty girls a lot." Then the police officers started to grin and I just talked their ears off about pretty girls. After that, they asked me don't run in the opposite direction from a crime scene. That looks way suspicious. Then I asked for a group hug and they gave me a group hug.

Japanese police are totally different than the American ones. I wouldn't attempt a group hug with American police. I'd probably get tazered! But Japanese police are very docile, and public intoxication isn't illegal here. I've actually saved money with free rides home from getting too drunk in public. The taxi ride would have been $30+ and they rode me home for free.

There can be some here and there. You have to venture to the extremities though, and they typically don't include the police. One of my problems, when I was younger, is that I loved EDM music. My friends loved hip-hop (or maybe "hip-pop") and R&B clubs. But whenever I flew solo, I went for EDM, and those tended to be far more underground since they were associated much more with narcotics use. I just loved the music and never tried the popular narcotics here like crystal meth but I'd get caught up in the crowds that did.

I'm just a drunk with a love of EDM but I happened to coincide in music tastes with a lot of methheads, Yakuza, young ruffians, and while it's no longer the case these days, underground nightclubs were illegal back then. It was actually illegal for customers to dance past midnight until 2016:

@TrueConfection Oops sorry, I skipped the part where they followed me to the bar to corroborate my story! I had gotten right outside the bar before they stopped me. Then part of putting them at ease was going inside and showing them that I left the phone in there.

okay- I did a job in Florida and myself and my associate were driving our rental car to our motel. Suddenly a cop car pulls up behind us with lights and siren on. The cops yell at us to get out of the car. Their guns were drawn. So we are pushed up against the car. The cops check our ID. We explain that we just flew in and were going to our motel. The cops tell us that two guys just robbed a convenience store and drove away in a light blue LeMans (that was whet our rental car was) and one of them had a cut under his eye. I had fallen through a suspended ceiling a couple of days before and I got a cut under my eye.

But i had a friend who is a twin and they twin pretended to be them when they got arrested.
They were so mad when they failed a background check.

They had to prove their finger prints didn't match.
