Have any of you ever been suspicious of a fake cop pulling you over or have you ever experienced it?

My wife was driving home last night down a four mile stretch of a lonely road with nothing but fields. We hardly ever see any vehicle's on it, that's why she was suspicious when a car pulled up behind her and turned a red dash light on. She called 911 and after a few seconds they told her there are no officers in that area. They told her to just keep driving but obviously, don't drive home, so, after she turned onto another road, he took off. She is pretty shook up and is afraid he got her plate info. I'm curious if any of you have experienced anything similar?

Two years ago, it was very similar to your wife's experience. It was just before Christmas and I was driving home down a long road surrounded by woods. It was dark with light snow, when suddenly I saw flashing lights behind me! I rarely see cops on this road, so I was kind of suspicious but when her turned the siren on, I figured it was legit lol plus I noticed flashing lights inside the grill.

I reported a fake motorcycle cop once. His clothes were tattered and he wasn't on the standard modern local force bike.

Unfortunately this happens some people have some cognitive issues going on and are wanting to be cops but likely can’t but more scary there is people who rape, rob, and even murder. If you’re suspicious then absolutely call 911 and put your hazards on. If it’s a real cop they will let you know

No. That's terrifying!! My wife had a perv cop pull her over in college and tell her if she goes on a date with him he won't ticket her. She was flat broke and gave in to the thug wanna be rapist. I really despise cops. So few serpicos n a barrel FULL of rotten apples!

Nope, never seen this. Plenty of dumb cops though. Where did this happen? Rural south?

Southern Missouri but yes, it's a rural area.

I don't know why but these scams always seem to be chainsaw massacre hillbilly's in rural areas. Excellent call by your wife. Better safe than sorry. It seems these guys depend on most people just automatically complying with an authority figure.

That doesn't really happen here. We sometimes have fake cops, but they use the uniform to trick and steal cash and jewellery from elderly people.

I have only been pulled over once and they let me go immediately. Apparently he thought my tags were a different color, which would have made them expired, but after he stopped me he saw that they weren't expired yet.
