I honestly don't know but today no lie I over heard customers complain that there was a local bank thats been closing branches like crazy. When people tried to do a withdrawal today they were told their systems were down. They could take money but couldn't give any unless the people agreed to a $30 fee! WTFI'd be calling the 🚓🚨 popo on that!

I don't really use my accounts because I don't trust the banks not when their tellers are selling your details online via the black market to fatten their pockets

What kinda of scammer will buy an account with no overdraft and usually about £5 in there

That's true. Banks have to keep a certain fraction of their total deposits on reserve. They lend out the rest. Today the FDIC and FSLIC protect depositors from bank failures, so people never have to rush to withdraw for fear of a bank failure.

Modern banks are insured with FDIC insurance, which basically means every dollar holder is backing their fractional reserve loans with printed money.
This is why banking is such a lucrative industry its also why its soo dominated by the State who has on many occasions forced banks into financially unwise business such as the subprime mortgage crisis.
