How would you feel if someone you asked out picked up the bill without saying anything?

A couple of evenings ago I invited out my little brother and his girlfriend for dinner, alongside I girl I am frequenting.

We had a good time and all, until I went for the check and found out my little brother had paid without saying anything. I didn't want to ruin the evening for the ladies but I took him aside and told him he's lucky I didn't throw him in the lake and to never pull a stunt like that again. It's a lesson, when someone older invites you out you don't pay without asking first - he thought he was doing something nice and instead he was being offensive. I told him, try to pull this stunt with his father-in-law, see how it goes.

Our father died when he was still a kid, so I have to teach him those things.

That’s stupid to be offended by someone doing something nice. I mean dammed if you do dammed id you don’t. If you don’t offer to pay well that’s a issue someone’s offended but if you do offer they’re offended.
