Do you obey traffic lights?
This question is really about driving a motor vehicle, motorcycle/motorbike or scooter, but you can also tell us about riding a bicycle or being a pedestrian.
I've spent over half my life in the emergency services and we get to see close up and personal what happens when people drive like idiots.
the common denominator is that they keep saying that they are sorry.
A lot of good that does after the fact.
Is that 30 to 60 seconds that you save really worth it?
so you shave a red light, chances are you will be stopped at the next one, and all of the cars that stopped at the light will be right next to you.
You choice on what you do, but EMS will never go out of business.
I do. But it didn't stop me from getting hit by a distracted drive when I was crossing the street when I had the walk signal and right of way.
So sorry to hear that.
It sucks to even think this. But at least the guy did stick around and call 911. It does not change that he was in the wrong. But he would have been even more in the wrong if he took off. But then again I did go head first into his front window and trashed it. So that might be what stopped him from taking off.
I wound up with two major skull fracture, traumatic brain injury and in a coma and nothing but minor road rash in a couple spots. So my head took the brunt of it. But I was not breathing on my own when the paramedics showed up so I would have died if he did take off. Also you want a really weird experience? What a traffic cam video of the accident that nearly killed you. I watched it a few times and after that I still say watching it is a true out of the body experience or the closest to one I want to get. lol

Only when I'm driving of course or when kids are around, but normally I don't.. I look at the streets and decide to cross the street or not
That's not good. You might not see a vehicle coming.
Of course, I like street racing and I obey traffic lights, it's stupid not too actually considering everyone obeys them so when that mf turns red for me and green for others, the one that's going to end up paying for that impatient choice will be me weither it's from my pocket or with my life and I'd possibly take someone else as well so it's best to follow them
Don't get me wrong I have accidently ran traffic lights before but that's late at night when the streets are empty
I try to. There have been times that I misjudged the timing/distance and ran a yellow light that had just turned red. But I don’t run red lights on purpose.
Walking? Nope. If there are no cars I'm going.
Driving, mostly. But if it's 2 am and I'm in a shady part of town then I'm slowing down and I'll go if it's safe.
Oh yeah for sure. Whether pedestrian or driving, or riding a bike.
I don't drive, but I do when I cycle, which is rare in the UK.
yes I only ran a red light once in my life and I got pulled over by the cops. Fortunately I knew the cop and he let me off with a warning.
Yellow means go faster right?
During my first visit to the UK, I was informed by the locals that Amber means Accelerate. 😁
I do.
Except for the useless one they have set up recently close to 'my' place - there isn't any significant traffic to be controlled. It's just a local ''politician's'' pet project.
Fuck him. Fuck them lights.
It depends on the country. I believe they are just for show in Sicily
I'm not from Arabia, so yes i do. I'm surprised people say they don't.
Good practice to always obey them it safer
Yeah i do lol
I obey them.
As much as possible.
