If it's necessary to let other road users know then I do. Most of the time they can work it out for themselves by looking at the other traffic.
By the way, I live in the UK and we don't have mandatory signals that some other countries have. Our lawmakers credit drivers with some common sense.
Yeah thats bad
@chrismaster69 what do you think?
@Still-alive it’s left to the driver, the Highway Code provides guidance and is required to pass your test.
You don’t need to indicate and if there is no accident or potential accident the police won’t bother you.
If however you cause another car to brake hard, cause problems to other road users, you can be charged with driving undue care and attention / careless driving.
However overall we don’t need the same crazy things other countries have.
All the time, i used to have road rage when i started driving. As a licensed racer (before not now) it is a classy and professional law, pretty simple and veey easy to do. I can't see you as a good driver if you don't use your turning signal. Ask the greatest and world class racers and drivers, do they use it or not?
I use them even when I am the only car because sometimes a car can sneak up in your blind spot. On the other hand I cannot say ALWAYS because there are times things happen (like a car pulls out in front of you) and there is no time to signal as you are fighting to avoid that driver.
If there's no one around me, I might not use it. But if there's other cars, I'll be using it to communicate my intentions so they can make room - either by obeying traffic laws or, more frequently, a parade of people speed past (and somehow still end up stopped at traffic lights right alongside me 🤔).
I have learned never to signal until I have my spot figured out. That parade of people drives me bananas.
I've learned to drive assertively, and likewise tend to pick out my spot well before the change is needed.
But I've definitely run into slow downs and folks who don't understand that zipper merges work - on both sides. Parades of asswipes not letting you merge or change lanes, and overly polite folks who will cause rippling traffic effects or full delays because they feel a pathological need to win Canadian traffic chicken and let everyone else in first.
Only seen worse in Minnesota. They're nicer than Canadians over there.

all the time!! i’m not a rule breaker💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️
Sure ;)
never broken a single rule in my lifeeee 💯
I see devil horns growing on your head lol 😝
😈😈
Actually I don't drive. I do want to get my driver's license eventually though
You should :)
@Still-alive I'm a little nervous. People say driving is not hard. Is it mostly just common sense and following rules?
Yeah its not difficult. Sometimes its so easy I struggle to stay awake at times lol. You’ll get the hang of it. If you know of any abandoned parking lots they are good places to practice
@Still-alive lol. Find driving boring much?
No actually it cam be relaxing sometimes. I just do it all the time cause of my job lol
Always if there's anyone around. If I'm literally the only car on the road I don't bother.
One time I drove a BMW, and I was shocked to discover they actually ARE equipped with turn signals, lol.
Lmao! 😂😂😂
All time in traffic, however if I’m changing and no traffic I don’t bother.
@karaspara he lives a dangerous life he does
Living life on the edge
@Still-alive @karaspara look most of time I am likely a good bit over speed limit, I indicate so those going slow know I’m about the warp past them lol.
If the car had machine guns or cannons, I would just flip to guns and move them, thus saving on indicators.
They let peasants have cars
@Still-alive @loves2learn @chrismaster69 peasants you are a Geordie 😂😂😂
@karaspara exactly everyone else simply does not count,
We are living in Gods county

Feels like the appropriate time to use this song lol
Trust me, I know I am better than yous
😂
I once got in accident because I used my blinker to early so I try to be careful not to overuse it anymore
How did that happen?
@loves2learn turned it on to get in the right lane then kept it on to turn right at the light. There was a gas station entrance on that side and someone was waiting to turn out and thought I was going to the gas station (even though I wasn't) they pulled out and t boned my car so badly that it had to get two new doors and the frame had been bent. Luckily my car was able to get fixed and also lucky that nobody got hurt since that side of my car was empty
Yikes that is scary. I can see how that could cause a miscommunication.
Yikes. At least you're ok
@loves2learn yeah it was their fault since they needed to wait regardless of where I was going but I'm still scared to use my blinker if people are pulling out
Yes. It is their fault. But I can see how it happened.
i do it all the time automatically without thinking about it even if i know there's nothing else on the road... i mean its not that hard a thing to do but you would think most new audis dont have indicators fitted
All the time. My biggest driving pet peeve is when people don't use their turn signal. That can cause accidents because you don't know where someone is turning especially when they are in your way. Using my turn signals helps me know where I am going
I always use my turn signals. It pisses me off when other people don't and I'd rather not piss anyone off on the road again
Lol thats l. a. for ya
That’s kinda the point… let the other drivers know you’re changing lanes or turning. Don’t just brake stop to turn into your driveway or a street or cut them off or get in front of them especially in a busy highway
Always. Road could be empty and I always do it 🤣 I hate non indicators!
Same! I had a friend make fun of me for signaling with no one around. That pissed me off. It is the right thing to do!
Always. Hate when people don’t use it. We have signs for it in Boston😂😂😂
Lmao! That sign is priceless
Even though nowadays I almost never drive - I prefer for someone else to drive given my health issues - I always turn my signal, here is mandatory and could cost you a fine if you don't.
All the time even when I don’t have any cars behind me lol
All the time, even when there are no other cars around :-)
Depends if anyone is close enough in the other lane that it matters. If it's empty, why bother?
You better check those blind spots
I've got a visual one in the mirror and and audio one when I use the signal. I understand your point, because the audio one will go off if you use the signal.
My new Honda CR-X warns “Lane Excursion” If I change lanes without signaling. So I use my signal most of the time.
It's pretty amazing. It automatically brakes if approaching an obstacle. With automatic cruise control all I have to do is keep it in the lane. This takes all the stress out of driving in stop-and-go traffic. I plug in my phone, turn on Spotify, and I don't much care if it takes me an extra 15 minutes.
That is funny your car scolds you. My mazda gives me a warning beep if my turn signal is on and someone is in the lane next to me.
@loves2learn yeah, the Honda does that too.
I leave my turn signals on all the time just to keep things interesting, who knows where I'm gonna go!
I use it when there’s loads of cars behind me. If the lanes are fairly empty I don’t bother lol. But I *always* use my mirrors to check first.
I don't drive and I'm not sure if I'm going to get my driver's license anytime soon.
Next thing to point out about blinkers. Once you are done using it. Turn the damn thing off.
Soooo freaking true! And don’t leave your left blinker on so long you forget and switch lanes to the right. Ughhhh
@loves2learn Yesssss
@Red_Arrow I can hear mine loud and clear
I despise people who do not use the turn signals. I wish I had a car that could not be damaged and then hit these drivers off the lane even if that throws them into a ditch by the roadside.
I sometimes DON'T use it. These are cases when there's no other traffic around.
The only time I don't is when no one else is around. Unfortunately a lot of people just meander into the next lane like it belongs to them.
I always do, but sometimes I think the new expensive cars don’t have a directional system installed because I never see them use it
It's the law to signal lane changes and turns. It annoys me when people don't use the signal
Well, maybe not ALL them time, technically, but at least 98% of the time.
I use mine all the time. Although the odd time I have to admit I may forget.
All the time. Most people use them incorrectly... they turn the blinker on as they change lanes. The blinkers are supposed to be turned on to signify intent, not action...
When the traffic dictates it as the sensible decision.
Everytime unless it's just a bend that looks like a new road.
When driving on busy streets always, but on the backroads basically never
Most the time. Depends if someone is near me or not.
Always! It is the right thing to do!
Even worse than non indicators are ones that forget their signal is on and then go to change the other direction without signaling. Seen that before too. Left signal, lane change to the right. 🙄
There are some bad drivers on the road
Every time I don't need a fender bender lol
Mostly almost all the time
Yeah, my cousin usually does
Always and most other drivers do the same.
I’m so old I forget to turn the blinker off.
Who ya calling old? 👀🤣
@loves2learn old in spirit
Old soul. Lol
About 90% of the time.
There’s signals?
Every single time
