Is there a specific reason why someone would ask for you age?

I don't think it would be either tbh. I don't look extremely old or young. I've always been told I look my age.

But generally, people would probably ask me because of how immensely reasonable, wise, & humble I am. They'd likely be confused as to why I'm so mature for my age.

way more often than not... when meeting someone new, people would ask me about my age because to them I seemed to be "more mature" for guys my age and that looked well, young

nowadays, when people ask about my age it is often related to work... because it seems like they're always expecting to see someone that's 50, 60 or whatever... someone that looks more "experienced" in that certain kind of business... lol

Yeah I am asked frequently about my age. Especially on here because people don't believe I'm a 13 yr old by my mentality. By my looks I will say I look my age or younger because my friends say I still look the same I was in 6th grade but with a tall height. Maybe I looked aged that time lmao.

I feel like its more just a normal thing people like to ask it does not necessary mean they think you are older or younger. If they asked your age and you answered and then seemed surprised then thats when you know they though you looked younger and/or older.

I've bought a alcohol once in my life, a bottle of wine as a gift to my father. It was this year, so I was 19, and was ofc asked for ID. It's been worse though. I was at a store once to buy some common household items for my appartment, and the cashier asked me if I was going to boarding school (which in my country is a specific type of "gap year" school that you can choose to go to at the age of 14-15) I was also 19 at the time...

Maybe it is due to our real soul age or maybe someone like the other person in an emotional way and prefer someone older or younger than him , any other thing comes to my mind maybe a legal age for someone to do something restricted by laws and to check it or not. In some cultures it is common to establish how to address you. In Korea girls I met would immediately ask how old I was and if I was married.

A lot of Asians actually seem to look very young, I'm not trying to sound like I'm stereotyping anything but I've noticed there's not of older Asian women that are like in their 40s or early 40s and look like they are no older than their 30s, I think lots of Asians just age very well, don't get me wrong some don't age well but a high majority if them seem to age very well from the look of it

Oh I agree, just the way it is I guess. My mom is in her mid 60s and those who don’t know her place her in the mid to late 30s. At least people don’t figure me for 12 anymore. There’s that. I’m a business owner, and if someone wants to see the owner or boss and I come out, I get a lot of strange looks.

I’ve had some who refused to believe me. The way I usually handle that is to go grab one of the guys with a little grey hair, tell him to put on his jacket, go out and strut like he owns the place and find out what the person wants. It works 😀

Perception is reality I guess. I dress the part, but looking young can be a hindrance but easy enough to work around. Heck I don’t have a thin skin, if I first met me I wouldn’t believe me either. Being under 5’ and weighing in under 90 lbs doesn’t help either. To some I probably don’t look like I’ve made it out of puberty yet.

Without a context I can't think of many scenarios why a girl would ask your age at all outside of getting to know you conversation.

Only other common circumstance I could think of is that she had already been checking you out and thinks you're cute, so she's curious what age you are before she goes further
