In what ways would you consider yourself fortunate?

I was fostered and adopted as a young child. I am fortunate enough to get fostered and adopted so young, instead of being fostered for years and years, jumping from home to home, and never finding a stable home or someone to call my parents. I was fortunate enough to be adopted around the age of 5, and fostered for a couple of years by the same parents who adopted me.

I am fortunate to have parents who actually are good parents. Although we are a somewhat dysfunctional family, I have great parents, and a great extended family. I grew up with everything I really needed or wanted, based on what I remember. My parents never did anything to make me feel like I wasn’t theirs. They are good parents, they provided for me, they loved me, and they took me in immediately. I am fortunate to have parents.

I'm healthy, I have a roof over my head, food and drinking water everyday. I live in a safe country, a country that it's not at war and I was able to go to college. I'm not forced to get married, I'm not forced to have kids, I can choose my religion or have no religion at all. I can dress whatever I want and I can date whoever I want. I'm able to study, work and drive. I can travel by myself and I can have male friends.
I didn't use to appreciate all these small things when I was younger but lately I realized that's a lot more than some people have. Sure, there are many goals that I want to achieve but I'm grateful for what I have.

I am very very fortunate to have overcome the few little big issues I had going on within myself... that I feel very fortunate about

but I feel the most fortunate because of the people I've had with me and in my life, because in spite of all those things, they have stuck with me and I was able to stick by them

other than that, I feel fortunate to be healthy and sane enough to go on and face this thing called life in this thing called the world

I also consider myself fortunate to have experienced some of the worst and that made me appreciate about the very best things in this life...

last but not least, I feel fortunate to known peace and balance within myself, as that will allow me to be close to my very best and to be that, for all those in my life

I think being in university was one of the biggest blessings God could have given me because people in third world countries don’t get to finish high school unless their parents are rich and I love the amazing people at church who gave me emotional support, university changed me from a hateful person into a compassionate and kind one and I’m also grateful to the amazing people I met at work, who taught me what kindness and love actually was and I’m grateful for the years my cousin and ex best friend were in my life, and the caring friends I had in my early 20s. Also the restaurants that serve chicken Caesar salad and the religious mentors I had online and in real life.

I am alive and I have a roof over my head, I have a loving family, a kind friends and classmates, a loving community, amazing mentors and teachers, health, I live in a safe country, I can go to school, I use a car to go places, food and drinks, I can sleep, I'm safe, I believe in god, and there are so many more things but this is all I know at the top of my head.

I did not take after my parents.

i managed not to end up a red puddle on bathroom floor.

i managed to move out of pretty crap poverty.

even with some of the above, I’m lucky to have some really great friends that tend stop me being that red puddle lol

I'm very fortunate. I was adopted by my uncle when I was 13 and he's made sure I've had a roof over my head and food in my stomach. I still live with him but now I pay for some of my own food. So I'm very fortunate and I know just how fortunate I am!!

I got injured at work in 2019 and I’m glad that I can still work. In 2022 I was walking home one day. Inside of walking to my house I walked past my house. I was confused on where I was and what happened is what I will never forget but I can’t say it. I’m still glad that I can still work
